Holiday Coffee Lover's Blog Hop Blog Candy from Juliana Michaels 17turtles

For my holiday coffee project, I choose to create a card using one of my 17turtles Digital Cut Files called I Love Coffee & Tea.  I sized the coffee mug to 3.5 inches in height and then cut it out using the BoBunny Star Crossed 6x6 Paper Pad. I created the sentiment using fonts from my computer (My Own Topher and American Typewriter) and printed it directly onto the patterned paper.

Santa Decorated Glass Block | Anita Mulcahey 17turtles Guest Designer

Hello everyone! It's Anita Mulcahey here and I am so excited to be guest designing for 17 Turtles Etsy Shop owned by the lovely and talented Juliana Michaels. I had such fun creating this decorated glass block as an altered holiday project from the cut file called Santa No. 3.

I used Vinyl, which is so easy to cut out on the Silhouette. Cricut sells a multi pack of vinyl which was perfect to use for this project. Vinyl is so easy to cut and does not require a mat which means you don't have much waste.

I love how it looks when it is lit and when it is not. I am thinking that I need to make some more of these blocks using other holiday cut files from 17 Turtles. I bought the glass block, the lights, fake snow and ribbon all at a local craft store.

Handmade Christmas Ornaments | BoBunny & Leaky Shed Studio

I love making handmade Christmas Ornaments! How about you? This month BoBunny is doing a product swap with Leaky Shed Studio Chipboard and one of the chipboard sets I received was the Victorian Oval Frames.  When I first saw this set, I immediately wanted to transform them into Christmas ornaments using the new BoBunny Christmas Collage collection.

I began by spraying the chipboard frames with the Bronze BoBunny's Glimmer Spray. I then used the frame to trace a piece of patterned paper to fit the inside of the frame. I cut the paper slightly larger than the opening and then adhered it to the backside of the frame. To decorate each of the ornaments I layered on various pieces from the Christmas Collage collection including the layered chipboard, chipboard and brads.

The holly leaf clusters where die cut from Evergreen BoBunny Double Dot cardstock and I then spritzed them with the Bronze Glimmer Spray. The new Double Dot Jewels worked perfectly for the berries!

If you love chipboard, then I invite you to visit the BoBunny and the Leaky Shed Studio blog's for loads of inspiration and ideas. And both BoBunny and Leaky Shed have some great GIVEAWAYS going on during this product swap so make sure you check them out for your chance to win!

I also want to invite you to take a look at the other project that I created for the Leaky Shed Studio and BoBunny Product Swap. It's a winter layout using the sketch for BoBunny's December Sketch Challenge and the new Altitude collection. I had a great time altering the Leaky Shed chipboard using BoBunny's Glimmer Paste!

Welding Letters | A Silhouette Cameo Tutorial

Do you want to learn more about how to use some of the fun features on the Silhouette Cameo Electronic Cutting Machine? Would you like to learn how to create your own custom titles and word art? How about learning to weld the letters together to create an all in one title? If your answer is yes to any of these questions, then the Welding Letters tutorial that I am sharing with you today is perfect for you!

WELDING LETTERS | A SILHOUETTE CAMEO TUTORIAL
Begin by selecting the Text button located along the left hand side of the screen (the one with the letter A on it). This will open the Text Style window on the right hand side of the screen. Next, scroll through the Font Style and select the font you want to use for your title.

Once you have selected your font, type out the word or words you want to use for your title. In this example I am showing you how to do this with just one word. I would recommend doing one word at a time. You can always weld the words together later.

After you have typed your word, left click and select the text. Then, right click and select Ungroup.

Welding Letters - A Silhouette Cameo Tutorial

This allows you to be able to move each letter around individually so that you can move them close enough together that you can weld them into one piece. Once you have moved the letters until they are slightly overlapping, left click and select all of the letters. Then right click and select Weld.

I thought the letters were overlapping enough however, when I looked at the word after clicking on Weld, I realized that the E was not connected to the V. If this happens to you, click on the Undo Arrow (located on the left side of the top tool bar) to undo the weld. Move the E until it is overlapping more, select all of the letters, right click and the select Weld.

Now all of the letters are one little happy welded family ready for you to cut out and use as one piece on your project.

If you are interested in doing more than one word, repeat this same process with the second word. Then move the two words until they are overlapping and weld them together.

So welding letters is super easy peasy right?! Now that you know how, you can start creating your own custom scrapbook titles using some of your favorite fonts. Happy Welding!!!

Christmas Scrapbooking and Crafting Ideas using Digital Cut Files | Suzanna Lee 17turtles Guest Designer

Hey there 17turtles fans! This is Suzanna Lee dropping in today to share some festive projects with you using Juliana's amazing cut files! I have long been a fan of Juliana's work and in particular, her cut files! How could I not visit her 17turtles Etsy Shop with so many creative digital cut files to choose from?

Merry Christmas Scrapbook Page by Suzanna Lee Guest Designer for 17turtles Digital Cut Files

This layout was created using two files:

Peppermint Parade Digital Cut File by 17turtles

Merry Merry Digital Cut File by 17turtles

The trees cut file is so diverse in that you get three pieces with the one file; the outline, the "innard" of the outline and, if you remove the inner shape of the outlined tree, a background for the outline tree.

The Peppermint Parade background cuts so clean and makes a fantastic holiday background! I actually pondered using the "left overs" on my Silhouette mat for another layout. The peppermint candy triangles leave a fun firework effect that I thought would be appropriate for New Years Eve or 4th of July.

One of the many things that is fantastic about Juliana's files is the value for money! You get so many great files for the price! I only used a fraction of what came in the Merry Merry set.

My next project is my favorite!! Back when Juliana was first getting her Etsy store up and running she asked what files people would like to see. Those of you who know me, know I was a swimmer and now have two budding swimmers following suit. Prior to Juliana's there just weren't cut files that I liked. She created just the thing! Better yet, she has boy and girl swimmers!

Girl Swimmer Christmas Ornament by Suzanna Lee Guest Designer for 17turtles Digital Cut Files

I used the Swimming Strokes Girl cut file to create this custom Christmas ornament for my daughter. It was dead easy to do with Juliana's file, a transparency and adhesive backed glitter paper. Instructions on how you too can create one of these is available over on my blog, Life's Trivialities. I plan on making a matching ornament for son using the boy backstroke swimmer thanks to Juliana's cut files!

Thank you so much for having me here today Juliana!

Thanks so much Suzanna! I love how you used the Merry Merry and Peppermint Parade cut files to create such a fun and festive Christmas scrapbook page. And your use of one of my cut files to create a Christmas ornament just blew me away! Make sure you all visit Suzanna's blog, Life's Trivialities, for instructions on how to create your own custom Christmas ornament and for more inspiring paper crafting and scrapbook projects!
