today i am grateful for...

1. having a day off in the middle of the week
2. living close enough to my mom that we can easily spend the day together
3. having a mom who is creative and shared that gene with me
4. being healthy and being able to work out at an awesome gym
5. my job and the security it provides us
6. my husband & the hard work he does everyday in order to get his new company up & running
7. summer time sunshine
8. the sweet syrupy goodness of dr. pepper

Love this idea! I have been struggling with the fact that I don't feel connected to my everyday. I just go through the motions and get through my day without taking in all the good things that surround me! Thanks Ali, you are always inspiring me to BE more!

my saturday

this was my saturday. made this on sunday.
it felt really good to play with my scrappy stuff like this.
very freeing!

trying to decide if i should stick it out there & audition for chatterbox & hambly.
i know i have absolutely no chance on either one. but i should let them be the one to say no.

more pink paislee

Just wanted to share the other Pink Paislee projects I made for CMK!

I really enjoyed working with the Spring Fling line! I really can't wait to see what they come out with at CHA! Here's a peak from their blog!

Speaking of CHA, I am going this year! For the first time ever thanks to Lisa at CMK and I am so excited! A little nervous, it's a big convention and I don't have any plans for meeting up with anyone while I am there. I hope to get some scoop from some veteran CHA attenders so that I can fully enjoy the experience. I have wanted to attend CHA for years, but I have never had a way to get in! Thanks Lisa!!! I am also looking forward to going because we will get to visit my favorite SIL who lives in Chicago! It's always a good time when we get together!

And another cool thing I wanted to share is here....Dig Deeper!
Kate O'Brien rocks!!! I am so inspired by her work and I am loving this idea of hers!!! Mini albums focusing on you and who you are! We all need to do more of this. Step out from behind the camera. Tell our story. Just be ourselves! I will be the first to admit I am not much on mini album's, but I am looking to stretch and grow and I think this may be a good creative exercise.
I am so excited to be getting the first kit and I got lucky to get on the list for September!

Go check it out and see if you can dig a little deeper!!!

Gotta run! Danny is making dinner and I better give him a hand!!!
Peace!

pink paislee here i come

Here it is...all the good stuff from Pink Paislee lying all over my scrapbook room floor.

My design process in full swing.
Papers and embellies sorted...
Sketches...
Selecting the photos is the next step!
Each idea in my mind somewhat put together before hand. But it rarely turns out to be what I had in mind in the beginning. I start playing with things and other ideas enter. In the end you can see how it all comes together. Such a fun process and even more so when I am inspired and feeling creative! Love this feeling!

Here is my first LO:

I actually mixed the 2 lines from Pink Paislee, added Sassafras Lass letter stickers, Heidi Swapp felt butterflies and some paint! I really had fun with the paint. I also had fun playing with the photo. I used an action that I found online and I spent a ton of time this morning playing with some actions I found until I got the look I was going for! Very into digitally editing my photos right now!
The title for the LO was inspired by OLW! Check it out!!!

Have a good one!!!

pink paislee & infusing creativity

I almost forgot to share that Pink Paislee is our sponsor this month at CMK! I just got my goodies in the mail today and I can't wait to play with the Spring Fling line!

I will be posting my creations probably sometime next week!
I also got the EK Success butterfly punch thanks to Carrie!

I plan to incorporate it into a project with the Pink Paislee. It remains to be seen how it will turn out!

Rehab 101 continues with day 2! I just read through Ali's newsletter and it talks about how you can infuse creativity into your life. So cool that she would discuss this particular topic as I am facing this new challenge in my work life! Just yesterday, I had made a personal decision to really focus on the positive opportunities I will have during this new adventure. I will be able to learn and experience new things and most of all stretch myself. I realized that I will need to be a little more creative in my patient care than I am used to being. I think I had gotten too comfortable with doing the same thing all the time in acute care. It is going to be good to step outside the box. Face a challenge. Learn. Grow. I am looking forward to my new daily creative!

rehab 101

Actually that was yesterday! It was my first day working on Rehab. A whole new experience for me and it may be a long 4-5 months there! I have never done this type of therapy before, I am not so sure I am going to enjoy it. I am just glad they are going to let me cut it shorter than 6 months and move to Ortho when one of my co-workers has her baby! I told her to feel free to go a little early if she wants to!!! I like the acute care setting so much better...I like sick people is what I always say!!!

Today I am off and currently I am putting off having to do some more painting. I loathe painting, and we still have so much to do around here. It would be done a lot sooner if I would just buckle down and get it done! Worked out this morning...it really felt good. Saw a lady there who was doing pull ups and made me realize how badly I need to get to the gym a little more regularly. I am going go 3 times this week! That is my goal!!!

After my workout I went to Hobby Lobby and got some basics that were on sale:
  • White, black and kraft cardstock
  • American Crafts D ring binders and page refills. I got 2 black ones! I probably need way more to get all my LO's into an album, but I'm just going to take it slow!!!! I am going to give these albums a try. Ali seems to like them, so I thought I would give them a try. I'll let you know what I think about them!

And can I just tell you how much I love Walmart! Not!!!! But they are cheaper, so I guess I 'll have to settle for that!

I am also loving the inspiration I am getting from 2 different places right now: Color Story and Design Experiment. I have yet to do one of the challenges, but I love what they are doing at each site! Color Story has a cool concept for design inspiration, and I just the journaling/theme prompts at Design X!

Hope you all have a good one!
Peace!

happy day

Last night I attended a 50th wedding celebration/family reunion for my Aunt Roseann and Uncle Charlie. It was great to see some many of my mom's side of the family...aunts, uncles and cousins. I heard someone say they had enough food for 250-300 people and I believe there were at least that many there. My mom is from a rather large family and so it adds up easily with all the cousins who now all have kids too!

Wanted to share with you all the DT contest at Create My Keepsake called Last Scrapper Standing. We will be adding a new DT member and selecting the July Guest DT member.
Check it out for all the details and I encourage everyone to enter!

I also wanted to share with you a new company to me anyway...Rose Moka! I found out about them from Pub Calls and I am now kicking myself that I didn't at least try out for their DT. But I am sticking with my promise! Anyway, I am loving their latest release and wanted to share it with you! I hope I am able to get my hands on some of this from somewhere soon since they don't sell it anywhere in the US yet.

Now I am off to play with my 2 nieces...they are in town for the weekend well Emma has been wanting to show me her bike!

Peace!
