Newton's Nook Designs June Release | Day 4 Newton's Kitchen

Hello! It's Day 4 of the Newton's Nook Designs June Release and I'm so happy you are joining us! Today we're featuring the final stamp set of the release called Newton's Kitchen! In this new stamp set you'll find Newton baking and cooking away in the kitchen!

Newton's Kitchen | Life Is What You Bake It

To get started, I stamped some images from the Newton's Kitchen stamp set and colored them with Chameleon Pens. I then die cut them using the coordinating die set.

The background was created using the new Sunscape Stencil. I love how versatile this stencil is. You can flip it around and create a sunset scene or use it like I did to create a sunburst behind your image. I applied Distress Oxide in Antique Linen over the stencil using a foam blending tool. I then die cut the background using the postage edge die from the Framework Die Set.

To complete the card, I adhered the stamped images with double sided foam adhesive and then stamped the sentiment with black ink directly onto the background.

Newton's Nook Designs June Release | Day 3 Coffee & Wine

Hello friends! Welcome to Day 3 of the Newton's Nook Designs June Release! If you are a wine and/or coffee lover the sets we are revealing today are for you! We have 2 new stamps sets called Wine A Little and Coffee and Wine.

Coffee and Wine | Life is What Happens Card

For my first card, I used the Coffee And Wine Stamp Set. I began by stamping the images with Versafine Ink in Vintage Sepia onto watercolor paper. Next, I colored the images using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.

For the sentiment piece, I die cut a frame from kraft cardstock using the inside scallop frame from the Framework Die Set. I die cut it again from white cardstock and stamped the sentiment from this set with Versafine in Vintage Sepia. I then sprinkled it with clear embossing powder and heat set it with a heat gun.

To finish off the card, I tied a bit of jute twine around the sentiment piece and adhered it to the card front.

Wine A Little | Uncork and Unwind Card

My second card features the Wine A Little Stamp Set. For this card, I began by stamping several of the images onto white cardstock and colored them with Chameleon Pens. I then die cut them with the coordinating die set.

Next, I die cut a tag from the Fancy Edges Tag Die Set and adhered the images to the tag. I stamped the sentiment with Versamark Embossing Ink, sprinkled it with white embossing powder and heat set. I then added a burlap bow to the card.

For the background, I used the Bubbly Stencil.  I positioned it on top of a piece of kraft cardstock and then inked over it using Ranger Perfect Medium. I then applied Ranger Perfect Pearls in Perfect Bronze using a brush. To set the pigment powder, I lightly spritzed the piece using a Tim Holtz Distress Sprayer. To complete the card, I then adhered the tag to the background.

Newton's Nook Designs June Release | Day 2 Lovable Llamas

Hello friends and welcome to Day 2 of the Newton's Nook Designs June Release! Today we are sharing projects created using the new Lovable Llamas Stamp Set! If you loved the Llama Delivery Stamp Set from the Holiday Release, you are going to love his new friends! There bags are packed and they are ready to help you create some Wooly Cool Cards!

Loveable Llamas | Wolly Cool Card

To get started, I used the new Serene Stripes Stencil to create my background. I alternated inking each section using Distress Oxide Ink in Lucky Clover and Twisted Citron. I allowed the colors to blend a bit in between, but if you want a nice crisp separation, you could always mask off each section.

Next, I stamped the Llamas and colored them with Chameleon Pens. I then die cut them using the coordinating Loveable Llama Die Set.

When I placed my colored images on the stenciled background, they seemed lost because the colors I had used for the background were so bright. To help tone this down, I die cut a piece of vellum using the scallop edge die from the Framework Die Set. This did the trick and allowed the adorable Llamas to take center stage. For the final touch, I stamped the sentiment on the vellum using StazOn Ink.

Newton's Nook Designs June Release | Day 1 Playful Pandas

Hello friends and welcome to Day 1 of the Newton's Nook Designs June Release! I'm so happy to be back hopping with the team again this month after a break last month to move to Pittsburgh, PA! Today, we're featuring the brand new adorable set called Playful Pandas along with 2 (yes 2!) new stencils.

Play Pandas | Big Wishes Birthday Card

When I first starting working on my card using the Playful Pandas Stamp Set, I wasn't quite sure what kind of card I wanted to make. Then I saw the cute balloon stamp and that got me to thinking about having the several of the pandas hold something. This also led to the idea of it becoming a birthday card. However, I needed some more birthday stamps, so I pulled out the Sending Hugs Stamp Set for the cupcake and present and the Newton Loves Cake Stamp Set for the party hats.

I stamped the Pandas using only black ink and then stamped the remaining images and colored them using my Chameleon Pens. It was then time to create the background. For this card, I used the Confetti Stencil and inked it up with Distress Oxide in Citron Twist. This is not one of the newer stencils being revealed today, but it was just too perfect not to use for the theme of this card! I then die cut it using postage edged die from the Framework Die Set.

To give the images a little dimension, I adhered some of the pieces with double sided foam adhesive. I also added a little detailing with a white gel pen.

Happy Father's Day Card | Newton's Nook Designs

Hello friends! I know it's been awhile since I posted. I took a break so we could move to Pittsburgh, PA! Moving is never fun, so I knew I'd need a break to focus on the packing and unpacking that goes along with it. Today, I'm back to share my latest card. It's a Happy Father's Day card created just in time for this upcoming special day! I used some fabulous Newton's Nook Designs products to bring it all together.

Happy Father's Day Card by Juliana Michaels featuring Newton's Nook Designs Winston Takes Flight Stamp Set, Framework Die Set, and Cloudy Sky Stencil

To get started, I stamped the adorable Winston from Winston Takes Flight and colored him with my Chameleon Markers. I then die cut him using the coordinating Winston Takes Flight Die Set.
He of course, is flying through the sky, so I created a background for him using the Cloudy Sky Stencil. I first die cut a piece of white cardstock using the scallop edge frame from the Framework Die Set. I then placed the stencil on top of the die cut and inked away using a blender tool and Distress Oxide in Blueprint and Salty Ocean.
Next, I stamped the sentiment with Versafine Ink in Black. I combined stamps from the Winston Takes Flight and the Papa Bear Stamp Sets to create the sentiment.

For the final touch, I embossed the postage edged die from the Framework Die Set. I originally die cut the image and had it on a white card base. However, it was too stark and drew your eye away from the focal point...Winston! In the end, I really love how the all black background looks with the texture from the embossed die. It adds a bit of texture to the background while keeping your eye focused on the stamped image and sentiment. Do you ever have one idea and then change it out because you don't like how it looks? What sort of changes have you made during your creative process?
