Thanks A Latte Shaker Box Card | MFT Stamps

Right now, I'm so in love with creating shaker box cards and today I'm sharing a new one that I just created using a new stamp set I just got! I have been wanting the LLD Perk Up Stamp Set and I finally got it about a week ago as a birthday present to myself. I love all things coffee, so this set is right up my alley!

I was inspired by the current MFT Stamps Sketch Challenge. Love the sketch and the projects shared by the DT are so amazing!

I had a great time creating my own patterned paper by repeatedly and somewhat randomly stamping the cute coffee cup from the stamp set.

I also had fun playing with some foil paper from my stash. I love the little bit of bling it adds to the card and I thought it helped repeat the bling from the sequins that are inside the shaker box.

The contents of the shaker box includes a variety of star and heart shaped sequins. I also added some star die cuts that I cut out using the MFT Die-Namics Blueprint 24.

Mother's Day Shaker Card | MFT Stamps

I don't know about you, but I'm so happy to see that shaker boxes are back! I remember the first time I made one. It was probably 10 years ago and I can honestly say that they are just as much fun to make now as they were back then! After recently getting the new MFT Stamps Stitched Circle Frames I was inspired to try my hand at making them for my Mother's Day cards. I thought they would be super fun to use for creating a shaker box filled with sparkly sequins!

I used a great technique that I saw on a video by Jennifer McGuire where she used Fun Foam to create the thickness in the shaker window instead of a bunch of foam tape (which is what I have normally used). I really loved this technique and the foam cut like butter with my Cuttlebug.

To decorate the shaker box window frame, I used the new MFT Modern Blooms stamp set and die set. These are one of my new favorite stamp sets right now! I love that that stamps have coordinating dies. With the use of a little foam tape, you can add some great dimension to your projects.

Along with the sequins, I also included some tiny little glass micro beads that I found in my stash. I'm pretty sure that I've had these since I made those first shaker box cards all those years ago. LOL!

I didn't have a Mother's Day sentiment stamp, so I printed my sentiment on white cardstock using my printer and a font called Ostrich Sans...my new favorite font!

Wood Grain Sequins

Hello There Card by Juliana Michaels using Elle's Studio and MFT Stamps Die - Wood Grain Sequins
I don't know about you, but I love sequins and wood grain! There is just something so fabulously fun about both of them and when you put them together it's even more fabulous! Recently I was the lucky winner of a MFT Stamps Die-namics Sequins die from Paper Crafter's Library and I have been "die"ing to play with it!

I used the MFT die to cut some sequins for my Hello There card from a sheet of wood grained paper called On The Dock that is part of the Elle's Studio Shine collection.

It was super easy to create these and add them to my card. And since they are made out of paper, the card is not bulky and will be easy to send in the mail.

Do you like to use sequins or wood grain pattern on your proje

Also, in case you didn't see it Elle's Studio shared the full revealed their new collections - Sycamore Lane  and Good Cheer which will be available in September! I can't wait to start playing with them!

3 Birds Studio Thank You Card

Hello and thank you for stopping by! The Thank You card I am sharing with you today was created using the 3 Birds Studio Graceful Season collection. I used scraps from my recent "Celebrate" scrapbook page to create it and another card that is up on the 3 Birds Studio Blog. To keep it simple, I copied the design of this card from the other card but I mixed it up by using different papers and a different sentiment. I hope you will visit the 3 Birds Studio Blog to see my other card and let me know what you think of them!

My Favorite Things August Scrap Guest Designer | Part 2

It has been so much fun sharing my creations using My Favorite Things with you and I want to give a special shout out to Laina Lamb for making this all possible! Thank you so much Laina!!! I have always loved her design style and the stamps and dies she has been creating for My Favorite Things are right up my alley!

The layout I am sharing with you today is just an everyday photo...in fact it is a selfie I took of myself during a day of working hard in the yard of our new home this spring. I felt so happy and content and I wanted to capture that moment and feeling!

INSPIRED BY | The Products
I know I said it in my last post for My Favorite Things, but products seriously inspire me to get crafty and creative. It happened again on this layout when I saw the Feathers and Arrows die and Mod Border stamps. I knew I just had to use them and then I realized as I was pulling out the stamps that the zig zag stamp would stamp perfectly on the feathers to make them look more "real". The red cardstock that I used for the title and on the arrows from the Feathers and Arrow die set help bring your eye around the photo from the title to the embellishment cluster on the bottom right.

TRENDS | Feathers
I will admit, I was a little slow to this trend, but I love the organic look they can add to a design. And with the style of these dies and stamps, they also lend a rather graphic feel as well.

TECHNIQUE | Stenciling
I used on of the My Favorite Things Concentric Circles stencil to "dress up" my background paper a little. I positioned the stencil on the paper and then inked it using a gray ink pad and a sponge dauber. I feel like it helps to slightly soften all of the straight lines and edges in the rest of the design.

My Favorite Things August Scrap Guest Designer | Part 1

Little did I know a few months back that when I guest designed for Laina Lamb using some of the stamps and dies that she designed for My Favorite Things that I would be asked to guest design for My Favorite Things!!! I was thrilled when I got the email asking me to do so! Of course, I had to use some a combination of dies and stamps designed by Laina since her style really speaks to me! I will be up on their blog twice this month. Today and then again on August 23. The layout I am sharing with you today is about my recent 40th birthday. It was a low key day, but my husband never fails to surprise me. This year he bought me my favorite coffee and then had a surprise birthday party for me at his sisters!

INSPIRED BY | The Products
I have always said that the products I have to play with are what inspire me and that was certainly the case with the dies and stamps from My Favorite Things! I knew immediately upon seeing the Laina Lamb Designs Reel Life die that I wanted to cut it out of different colors of paper and scatter them around on my layout and layer them under my photos.  As I was cutting them, I had the most awesome trash from the negatives that I couldn't bear to throw away. I was then inspired to use these to create the border along the right hand side of the layout. After that I gathered some stamps from the Laina Lamb Designs Right This Way set. I stamped them onto white cardstock using black ink and then fussy cut them before adding them to my layout.

TRENDS | Arrows/Triangles
They are still going strong and I love how they can help guide your eye as you look at a layout. I also used them to create a border around the outside edge of my layout with the help of the Laina Lamb Designs Mod Borders set and a gray ink pad.

Creative Scrappers #250

Today I am sharing the layout I created using Creative Scrappers Sketch #250. I am saddened that Creative Scrappers is taking a little break, but I know Kristine will come back with something amazing and inspiring and I can't wait to see what it is!  Until then, we will have Creating With Sketches Volume 2 to enjoy and it is being published on March 5.

I used the new Jillibean Soup Chilled Watermelon Soup collection. The Pea Pod Parts are really cute and I found there to be plenty of fun shapes to work with!  I was also given the opportunity to work with My Favorite Things February release by Laina Lamb Designs.  I worked with both of her new stamps sets and dies and I loved them!!!

This was my first opportunity to work with products from this company and I was so pleased to see the quality of both the stamps and the dies!!!  The dies worked wonderfully with my Cuttlebug! I used the Notebook Paper die on one of the 3x4 images that I cut from the Bite Sized Bits patterned paper.

I then used the stamp from the set below and added my journaling.

And if this stamp set doesn't make you arrow lovers happy I don't know what will! I know I am addicted to this set right now!!!  Thanks again to Laina for this fabulous opportunity!!!

And here is the sketch...
