CHA faves!

We all have them, so I know I am not alone. I thought it might be fun to put together some of my faves together in one place so that I can have a place to refer back to them for shopping purposes in the near future! LOL!!!

I am definitely loving all the new lines from Bo Bunny! I think my favorite line is Sophie! The colors are just so amazing and the swirls and flowers just make me giddy! But, of course that is definitely subject to change once I get them in my hands! I am also really excited about all the new embellishments...the chipboard stickers, iCandy chipboard stickers and iCandy dimensional stickers!
I am also really excited about all the new embellishments!
And the new chipboard albums and matching papers!
The other two lines I am digging are Mama-razzi (can't help but sing a little Lady Gaga here!!!)and Roughin' It! for all the camping photos, but also the colors...they make me feel warm and happy!

Now onto some of my other faves....

Jillibean Soup...always one of my faves, and this release was no exception. The colors and patterns never disappoint and they have added some new die cut stickers and other embellishments to the lines too. My favorite is Old World Cabbage for sure!

I am also totally loving their new alphas...the style is so classic!

And the new corrugated alphas! Yummy!!!

Oh, I can't forget their new canvas flowers! And even more cool, is their new partnership with Core'dinations Cardstock (along with quite a few other companies like Jenni Bowlin!)!

GCD Studios...I just recently came across Melody Ross's blog. I have known who she was for a long time...from when I first started to scrapbook 12-13 years ago. Chatterbox was one of the first scrapbook companies out there to make products and I still have some of their original tracing templates! LOL! I am so excited to see and follow the new paths and adventures she is going on with her creative abilities and style. Her new lines with GCD Studios are seriously gorgeous and just make me want to play with paper and scissors and glue and my sewing machine!
And her new tool! I can not wait to get my hands on it! It embossed chipboard! Love that!!!
Next favorite has to be Pink Paislee! Seriously, every new release is more amazing than the last one! All of their new embellishments are so amazing! I am particulary loving 365, but Bayberry and Queen Bee are looking quite lovely as well!
Totally loving the new chipboard letters all distressed and houndstoothie! and the ribbon strips! All so yummy!Basic Grey really made me fall in love with them with these 2 lines! Cappella is the line I have been waiting for to do my wedding photos! I have done most of them, but I have not done them all! And you can always do them more then once right?!And this new line! Love how classic this is! Perfect for everything! All you would have to do is add a splash of color and you would get a whole new look!Fancy Pants caught my attention with this line...My Family! I love the colors...and the red!
Some other faves....
Jenni Bowlin...loving these butterflies and her new buttons!
Sassafras Lass... Loving Cherry Delicious!

I am making myself stop there, but I could probably go on and on! I have noticed that I am loving pink, red, blue, turquoise and cream/off white right now! Canvas looks like it is going to be huge and I can not wait to get some of it to play with! Sewing, stitching and hand made goodness are everywhere this year and really make me happy! (Maybe that is because I just got a sewing machine for Christmas! LOL!!!) And flowers, buttons and butterflies...all of these things that make me happy and they look like they are here to stay as well!

So the question for you is...What is on your "must have" list??? We all have one! Don't deny it!!!!

Welcome Winter!

Here is the Bo Bunny project I gave you all a sneak of last week! Our challenge today, was to create a project with a focus on the combo stickers. I choose to use the Snowy Serenade line. This wall hanging was originally a photo frame. I decided to cover the photo opening and create this cute little home decor item instead. My mom thought I should make 3 for each season. Just wish I had thought of that when I bought it to begin with!
(Supplies:Snowy Serenade Serenade,Snowy Serenade Stripe,Snowy Serenade Concerto,Ensemble iCandy Brads,Snowy Serenade Combo Sticker,Gypsy Combo Sticker (swirls),Chunky Chips Alphabet)

Happy Wednesday!!!! Hope you are having a great week!

Happy Birthday Mom!

This weekend we celebrated my Mom's 65th birthday! She might kill me for sharing that, but I am still having a hard time realizing that she is 65. She doesn't look anywhere near that age to me! I just hope I look that good when I turn 65! We had a wonderful time celebrating her birthday and of course my niece was right in the middle of it all!
I created my version of a flower pot angel as a gift for her, after being inspired to create one by Patti Milazzo. You can see her flower pot angel on the Bo Bunny Blog. When I first saw that angel I knew I wanted to make one for my mom for her birthday! Well she loved it and I love how it turned out! I will try to get some photos soon and post them here to share with you.
Today, Bo Bunny is featuring Love Bandit on their blog! This has to be on of my favorite Valentine themed lines ever! It is just too adorable with all the cute little critters! I created a layout about my niece and her "Punkin"! My mom made it for her to use as a pillow at daycare, but it has never been used for that! To her it was "Punkin" and meant to be hugged and loved, not used as a pillow! I'm telling you, this little girl is something else!!!
(Supplies:Love Bandit Flower Die Cut, Love Bandit, Love Bandit Bee Mine, Love Bandit Whoo Loves You, Love Bandit Tweetheart, Love Bandit Nuts 4 U, Love Bandit Cut Outs, Chunky Chips Alpha Chiffon (covered with patterned paper), Double Dot Cardstock Strawberry and TuTu)
The fun border piece I created from the Love Bandit die cut paper and punched border strip was inspired by a very talented friend of mine....Cindy! When I saw this LO of hers I knew I had to give that border idea a try! Thanks Cindy for the inspiration!!!

Make sure you stop by the Bo Bunny blog for more inspiration using Love Bandit from the rest of the DT!

Happy Monday and thanks for stopping by!

I know I am loving them!!! They will be sharing all of the new releases this week, AND they are having some fabulous giveaways all week long as well! So make sure you hop on over!!!

Last, but not least, is a little sneak peak of one of my latest Bo Bunny projects! I will be sharing it with you all very soon!

Hope you have a great week!

Baby It's Cold Outside!

Well, not so much today, it is 38 degrees at the moment! But it sure has been cold here and I am happy to know it is going to be above freezing today! We finally got down to the river last Sunday and took a few photos of the ice on the river. It was so amazing to here it crackling and crunching as it floated down stream. We got there just as the sun was setting and the light was just gorgeous!
This week has been a long one, my PT student started Monday, but he is great! Very motivated and wanting to learn despite being in a different setting from his other clinicals. Rehab is quite different from outpatient PT! Speaking of this, I really appreciate all the kind comments made in regards to what I said in my last post about being a PT on rehab! Thank you! I look forward to the next eight weeks that my student is with me, as a wonderful learning opportunity and chance for growth, not only for my student, but for me as well!

Now on to the Frosty tutorial as promised!
The original snowman was actually a wooden snowman nutcracker that I got at Michaels. I removed the wooden nutcracker handle since it didn't really work anyway and then just covered him with the paper. That was the tricky part, figuring out how to cover the rounded surface with paper. I finally decided to just go for it and see what happens, I came up with a rather simple way of covering a rounded object with paper.
Measure the height of the rounded object.
Cut the patterned paper that height.
Wrap it around the object to determine the length you will need to go all the way around.
(I am sure there may be another way to do this, but his worked for me!)
Cut it that length.
Cover the object with adhesive.
Wrap the paper around the object and get it in place.
Then lightly spritz the paper with water and start squishing the paper around the object.
It does wrinkle and crease the paper a little, but it gives it a nice distressed feel. Especially if you add a little distress ink later on.

I did the face, mid section and lower section each separately.
For the hat I started out with the same measuring technique, but then I cut darts in the paper along the bottom edge (the one that touches the hat brim). As I adhered it I allowed these areas to overlap as I went around the hat.
I painted the nose, hat brim, hands, bird and base with acrylic paint. I drew the smile with a marker and used chalk to add the rosy cheeks. I personally love to use YES! paste for my altered objects. It is slow drying, so you can move things around a bit until you get them where you want them, however it is really messy and sticky! But that's half the fun, right?!
I hope this tutorial is helpful! If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask!
I was going to add the ACOT travel layouts I just did, but this post is plenty long! I will save that one for another day!

Don't forget I am having a give away this weekend and after a little thinking, I have decided that if the winner wants to wait a bit for their prize I will throw in some of the new releases as well! How do you like that?!

Happy weekend!

100 Followers! Bo Bunny Sneaks! and a Giveaway!!

Lots of good stuff going on and it's making me smile!!!
I could not believe when I happened to glance at my follower list the other day and saw that I had 100 of you following me! WOW! Seriously appreciate you all stopping by and I would love to hear from more of you this coming year! In celebration of that I have decided to do a little giveaway from the 3 most recent releases from Bo Bunny (Snowy Serenade, Persuasion and Love Bandit). Just leave me a comment between now and Sunday, January 17th at 12AM CST and I will put your name in for the random drawing!

Wanted to also point you over to the Bo Bunny blog and their Facebook and Twitter pages! They are posting some sneaks today of the upcoming CHA releases! I am personally loving all of the themes as well as the great masculine and feminine color combination's! So make sure you stop by and check it out!I will be back tomorrow to share a brief tutorial on my recent Snowman creation(that's a peak of him above and he is also posted on the Bo Bunny blog) as well as more on my recent ACOT reveal about travel themed layouts (a peak of that below or you can see more over at ACOT)!

Happy Friday!

and yeah, I am still playing around and working on my blog look! LOL!!!

One week into the new year!

The week has been rather uneventful, but busy with daily life. Work seems to take up so much of my day and by the time I get home most evenings, I am feeling rather tired and lazy! But life goes on. I am currently working on our rehab floor, which is not my favorite place but I was asked to switch to it for awhile with my boss describing it as "taking one for the team"! Gotta love that way of being asked to do something at work! I understand all of the reasoning behind it and I am trying to be open to the possibility that this is a good change for me...staying awake to the opportunities. Maybe this is where I am supposed to be right now. I now the stories of what these patients go through and watching the progress that they make, working so hard to get back sometimes minute abilities at a time can bring me to tears. I am a bit of a softie at times and will seriously start crying over the littlest of things. So I am open and doing and learning.
(Supplies: Snowy Serenade Winter Night, Double Dot Slate Dot, Double Dot Frost Dot, Winter Lace Stamp, iCandy Jewels)

We had our first real snow of the winter this Thursday, with accumulation of a couple inches. Nothing too spectacular, and thank goodness it was only snow with no ice. I do, however want to get down to the river and get some photos of the ice floating down the Mississippi. I hear it is gorgeous! This weekend is to be a creative one I hope, several projects are due this week and I really must get them done this weekend so that I have some light to photo them! Speaking of projects, I hope you all were able to check out my video debut on Bo Bunny blog! If you missed it, here is a link - Snowflake Stamping Tutorial. I did it in one take with the help of Danny. When I watched it back, I realized how nervous I was at the beginning. Oh well! Live and learn, right?! Next time, you probably won't see my smiling face on the video! LOL!!!

Hope you have a great one!

Happy New Year...2010

for starters...
I am not a big resolutions person, but I always have dreams and goals. Things I want to achieve. This year is no exception. One of the biggest thing for me this year is to make better use of my time on the computer. Better blogging, keeping in touch, maintaining friendships, making new friends. Spending more time with my Babycakes...more quality time. Start using coupons...seriously getting organized. (there will be more on this at another time.) Eating out less, not buying sodas at work but taking my own from home. Basically trying to stick to a budget. Cooking a real dinner...sitting down at the table to eat instead of in front of the TV. Continuing to read books. I seriously fell in love with this in 2009. I want to continue to feel free in my creating...creating what is in my heart and what makes me happy. I want to get published more. there they are! Now I just need to do a LO! LOL!!! Oh and last but not least...start sewing more. See...I got a new sewing machine for Christmas so I will hopefully very soon be adding this to some of my projects! Not the prettiest pic of me, so just focus on the machine! It does like 50 different kinds of stitches! Yippee! All kinds of fun is going to come from this!!!

I have really enjoyed seeing some of my friends share their top 10 favorites from this past year.
So here is my take on this...
OK?! So it is more than 10, but I could probably add more! I will admit that I have really enjoyed creating this past year. Finally feeling like I have found who I am when I create. I really struggled with that prior to this past year. I hope I am able to continue this in my creative process and maybe even expand myself a bit into the world of fabric and sewing!

and finally...
Happy New Year to all of you and thank you so much for all your comments, your support and for just stopping by to check out my latest post! I hope to hear from more of you in the coming year!!!
