Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop + Downloadable Coffee Themed Cut File

Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

I'm so happy to be playing along with the Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. I hope you are enjoying something a warm and yummy beverage as you hop along!

The Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop started today Friday, September 25 and will run through Friday, October 2nd. The theme for this hop is Fall and I immediately knew I wanted to incorporate the many beautiful warm colors that I associate with fall - orange, yellow, red and brown. To do this was super easy using the new Carta Bella Fall Blessings collection.

For more details about the hop, see the bottom of this post.

Good Days Start With Coffee And You Card by Juliana Michaels for the Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop featuring Carta Bella, MFT Stamps, Elle's Studio and Therm O Web

I began by die cutting my coffee cup using my But First Coffee Digital Cut File that you can download and use for your next coffee themed project. I then layered the pieces and attached them to my card base. All of the patterned papers that I used on this card are from the Carta Bella Fall Blessings collection.

To create my sentiment I used the My Favorite Things Stamps LLD Perk Up stamp set. I just love all the sentiments in this set!

To me gold is a perfect accent color for all things fall, so I decided to add a touch of gold by stitching around the outside edge of my card using gold thread and my sewing machine!

The final, and really only, embellishment I added was a touch of gold to a piece of Elle's Studio wood veneer. I applied a coat of Therm O Web's Deco Foil Liquid Adhesive and allowed it dry until it was crystal clear. This takes about 15 minutes depending on how thick you apply the glue. I then applied Therm O Web's iCraft Deco Foil Transfer Sheet in Gold.  Wa-la...a beautiful gold accent piece!

Ruby Rock-It Guest Designer | Rose Cluster Downloadable Cut File

Hello everyone! I'm excited to share that I'm guest designing with Ruby Rock-It this month. They sent me the super cute and fun Happy Days collection to create with. Today, I'm sharing the two scrapbook page I created for my guest post and that were up on the Ruby Rock-It blog yesterday.

Love First Communion Scrapbook Page by Juliana Michaels featuring Ruby Rock-it Happy Days Collection

For my first layout, I wanted to keep the focus on the photo of my niece on the day of her First Communion. I went with a rather simple design and created a small cluster of embellishments from the Happy Days collection. I felt like the layout still needed something to balance it, so I created a digital cut file called Rose Cluster. The floral design of the die cut mimicked the flowers in the collection and by cutting it from white cardstock and placing it behind the photo and embellishment cluster, it helped to balance the placement of the photo and to draw your eye to the photo.

You can download Rose Cluster for use on your own projects! Enjoy!

For my second layout, I was inspired to create a quilt like pattern because of the Happy Days Patchwork paper. I simply cut four squares from the paper and stitched around each square to further enhance the "quilt" like feel. I then centered my photo in the middle of the squares and added some of the fabulous Happy Days embellishments. I especially loved the die cuts with glitter on them!

The jar embellishment was fussy cut from the Captured Moments paper. I then added the twine bow, Happy Days Droplets and Die Cuts.

I hope you enjoy the downloadable digital cut file - Rose Cluster - that I shared with you today and the projects that I created as part of my guest post with Ruby Rock-it! I also want to thank Ruby Rock-It for having me as a Guest Designer!

Scrapbook Generation Create Magazine | September 2015

I have some great news to share with you today! The Scrapbook Generation Create Magazine September 2015 issue is now live. As I've shared before, this magazine is an amazing source for scrapbooking and card making inspiration. It is available to download and enjoy right now, so don't wait any longer to check it out!

Scrapbook Generation Create Magazine September 2015

As one of their Design Team Members I have two projects in this month's issue and today I'm sharing some sneak peeks to entice you to check out this awesome digital scrapbooking and paper crafting magazine...
The first project I created is based on one of the awesome sketches in this month's issue. It is a two page layout sketch, but I switched it up and did a single page layout. I finally used some of the Pebbles Happy Days collection that I have been hoarding. It is such a fun and cheery collection and was perfect for the photos and memories that I recorded on this layout!

The other layout that I created for this issue was for the Theme Challenge. Any guesses on what the theme might have been? If you take a peek at my sneak, I'm sure you'll guess...it was Halloween or Fall. I, of course, had to pick Halloween! I used a combination of fun Halloween themed products from Echo Park, Tim Holtz and EK Success to create my layout.

Scrap Our Stash September Guest Sketch Artist

Any one who knows me really well, knows that I love Mexican food! One of my favorite things to eat is stuffed poblano peppers and I usually only get them when we go out to eat. Last year, I decided to try making them at home and loved how they turned out. The fried versions are still my favorite, but after almost having a major mess involving the grease, I knew that I needed to find a different recipe for making them at home. That is when I came across this awesome Stuffed Poblano Peppers recipe from the Cottage Mama. It was really easy to make and I didn't almost catch the house on fire!

Too Good Scrapbook Page by Juliana Michaels featuring Elle's Studio - Scrap Our Stash September Challenge

I created this Too Good layout to play along with the Scrap Our Stash September Challenge.  I'm very happy to share that I'm this month's Guest Sketch Artist! Along with the fun challenge - use 3 School Supplies on your layout - I also created a sketch for everyone to use. I invite you to head on over to the Scrap Our Stash blog and check out all the great details about the challenge and this month's prize!

To play along with the challenge, I really had to dig into my stash and put my thinking cap on to find some school supplies that would work. Since we don't have children, we don't really have a lot in the way of school supplies in the house, but I was able to come up with 3 supplies that I think fit the challenge perfectly.

1. Graph paper - I found an entire pad of it in my stash and I'm pretty sure I'll be using it again in the near future!

2. Paper clip - Yes, it's gold, but it sure is pretty!

3. Crayons - Last but not least, I used a green crayon to draw a border of little stars all around the outside edge of my layout.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you'll play along with this month's Scrap Our Stash September Challenge. I can't wait to see what you all create based on the sketch and challenge!

Throwback Thursday | Halloween Flower Pot Witch

Hello and welcome friends! Today, I'm doing a little Throwback Thursday for you and sharing one of my favorite Halloween projects from the past. Check out this cute Halloween Flower Pot Witch that I made way back in 2012.  I created her using small clay flower pot and wooden ball. The original instructions were posted with a Flower Pot Angel that I made.  For my Halloween edition, I just went for Halloween themed papers and switched up the design a bit to create a cute little witch instead of an angel!

Besties | Free Digital Cut FIle

I recently had the awesome pleasure of meeting Katrina Hunt in person and attending a weekend crop at Scrapbook Generation. I'm originally from Missouri, which is where Scrapbook Generation is located, so I decided to incorporate meeting her and attending the crop during a trip to see my family. It was a wonderful weekend and one I will always treasure! It's so wonderful to meet people and learn how truly awesome they are. I truly believe that I have a new best friend for the rest of my life!

While we were there, we of course had to take a selfie. Katrina printed it and then we each scrapbooked it. Katrina posted her She #Roadtripped layout last week. Today, I'm sharing my take on it using the BoBunny Sweet Life collection along with lots of fun embellishments, including a doily just for Katrina!

To create the title, I used Therm O Web's Deco Foil and Hot Melt Adhesive. If you are interested in how I did this, you can check out the Foiled Die Cut Tutorial I created and shared on the Therm O Web blog.  It's one of my favorite ways to work their foil, however, I have branched out and tried some new techniques that I will be sharing with you very soon!
