Pie Chart Digital Cut File and Scrapbook Sketch

I don't know about you all, but I think there is something absolutely wonderful about using cut files and sketches when it comes to scrapbooking. They can both quickly help pull a layout together. The fact that they can both be so helpful got me to thinking. What if I were to create, combine and share both of them with you along with a layout for even more inspiration? I decided it would be a fabulous idea, so that is exactly what I'm doing today. Below you will find a layout, a digital cut file and a sketch to help you as you create your next scrapbook page.

I created my Favorite Spot layout using the new Jillibean Soup Mushroom Medley collection, Lines Tags and Alpha Tiles. You can see a full list of the supplies I used below. I selected a variety of the patterned papers and then used the Pie Chart Cut File to create the design.

I cut the pie chart shape from white cardstock and then backed each of the sections with my selected patterned paper.

If you haven't checked out the Jillibean Soup Alpha Tiles, I highly recommend them. They are perfect for short titles and I love how they have the holes pre-punched and ready for you to add your own stitching in the perfect color to coordinate with your layout.

Love This Moment Elle's Studio and a Sketch

I am excited to share a new sketch and scrapbook page with you today that I created using Elle's Studio papers and exclusive May Kit! I used a combination of patterned papers from the 2014 and Everyday Moments collections and just layered away. I even punched some circle designs from one of the papers to add to my design. The "Love This Moment" wood veneer that is part of the May Kit was the perfect fit for the photo of my nieces and husband. When they came to visit us last year, one of the first things they did was run to Uncle D and beg him to tell them a story! Of course, I just loved that I was able to capture that moment and the love they have for him!

2 Page Layout And A Sketch

If you know me, you know I don't do two page layouts very often. In fact, the last time I did one was nearly a year ago when I did one for Creative Scrappers Creating with Sketches Volume 2. Well, I'm back this year with with a two page layout and a sketch by me for you to enjoy! I used Jillibean Soup's Cold Avocado Soup collection. This is one of my all time favorites, but then I tend to fall in love with all of their collections!

SCRAPBOOK SKETCH | 2 PAGE LAYOUT

The thing I like about this sketch is that it could easily be used for two single page layouts by using just one side of the sketch or the other. If you wanted to use the left hand side, you could use the area that is for journaling to easily hold both your title and journaling. The same can be said if you wanted to only use the right hand side. You could simply add your journaling below the title.

I had fun adding some texture to the page by using a stencil and modeling paste.

Instead of the stars, I used some polaroid frames that are part of the die cuts that go with the Cold Avocado Soup collection. I then added in some chipboard frame from Dusty Attic that I colored with a Krylon Gold Leafing Pen.

3 Birds Studio and A Sketch

Today I Was Here Layout | Paper Bakery Sketch Challenge 13

Sketch Challenge 13 is live on the Paper Bakery blog. I was inspired to create this sketch after getting a sneak peek of the contents of the September Scrapbook kit. That Glitz Design Wild & Free sticker sheet did the trick!!!

TIP | Altering stickers
A simple trick I used on this layout was to take the feather stickers and cut them so that you looked more like a real feather. To make this easier, I applied baby powder to the back side of the sticker, which removes the stickiness and then cut them with my scissors. I then attached them to my layout with double sided foam tape to give them even more dimension.  I then grouped them together with a feather charm and ribbon to make a nice little cluster.

Be Yourself Layout | Paper Bakery September Scrapbook Kit

Today I have a layout to share with you using the Paper Bakery September Scrapbook Kit Art Fair. It is now available in the shop if you don't already have a membership! It is full of fabulous product from Bella Blvd, Glitz Design, Jillibean Soup and My Mind's Eye.  I really enjoyed creating with this month's kit and so far I have made 4 layouts and 2 cards! This layout was a joy to create because of the subject matter...my awesome SIL! These photos are from my niece's wedding in May and I have been waiting for the right paper to use with them. Besides the kit, I also used some embellishments from the Paper Bakery shop including some washi tape and resin hearts!
