Make A Beautiful Life

My mom gave me the most awesome card for my birthday! You know the kind that makes you cry while you are reading it?!
I was inspired to create this LO based on the words from that card as I played along with this weeks mixer at Mix It Up!

(Supplies: Sassafras Lass, Scenic Route, My Little Shoebox, Magistical Memories, Kaiser Crafts, Fiskars, Stampin' Up!)
If you like the little birdie, check out Magistical Memories! They are having a 25% off sale on orders of $25 or more!

Here's what the card said...

"Love yourself.

MAKE PEACE with who you are

and where you are

at this moment in time

Listen to your heart.

If you can’t hear what it is saying

in this noisy world,

MAKE TIME for your

Enjoy your own company.

Let your mind wander amoung the stars.

Try.

Take chances.

MAKE MISTAKES.

Life can be messy

and confusing at times,

but it’s also full of suprises.
The next rock in your path

might be a stepping-stone.

Be happy.

When you don’t have what you want,

want what you have.

MAKE DO.
That’s a well-kept secret of contentment.
There aren’t any shortcuts to tommorrow.

You have to MAKE YOUR OWN WAY.

To know where you’re going
is only part of it.
You need to know where you’ve been, too.

And if you ever get lost, don’t worry.

The people who love you will find you.

Count on it.

Life isn’t days and years.

It’s what you do with time

and with all the goodness and grace

that’s inside you.

MAKE A BEAUTIFUL LIFE...

The kind of life you deserve."

I believe we can all read these words and be touched by them; made to think about our own lives and where we are and what we are doing with them right now.
Take them in!
I know I did!

We have a winner!!!

Yes, we have a winner! Unfortunately I didn't get enough posts to give the punch away, but hopefully the winner will still be thrilled with the prize package I will be sending them!
Now without further ado, the winner of the prize package using the Random Number Generator is...

Congrats Marti!!!! Send me your email, so I can get your address!

My birthday was a really great day! I spent it with my DH and parents starting off going to church and then we took a picnic and went to a local winery called Crown Valley Winery! They have a wonderful Cabernet Sauvignon - "This Cabernet is very fruity and has soft, silky tannins. The nose starts with red fruits and strawberry jam. Very delicate spices, with a hint of mocha and vanilla." I couldn't agree more with this description! My DH gave me an awesome cook book by Cook's Illustrated called the "America's Test Kitchen Family Cookbook"! My mom has it and there has not been a recipe in there that she has tried that was not just absolutely amazing!!! I can not wait to start using it! We ended the day with dinner at my mom's! All in all it was a very relaxing and peaceful day!

I have one scrappy project I want to share with you...

I created this for several challenges that inspired me this month.

1. I used the May sketch #2 at Magisitical Memories.
2. I played along with the May Recipe Challenge at A Cherry On Top.
3. I used this fun mixed media technique... Release the Inner Renoir at The Next Step.
4. I was inspired to use the word/number "TWO" in my title from OLW. (although I was too late to play along there!)

That's quite a few places to get inspiration and I still can't believe I was able to combine so many into one LO!

I also want to remind you that Mix It Up will have a new challenge posted this Wednesday and that this month's sponsor is Riff Raff Designs! So make sure you play along for your chance to win an awesome prize package from them!

Cards...

Believe it or not, but I have been creating cards lately! I always seem to struggle with them, but I have been so inspired by Ingrid Danvers that I felt the desire and urge to use some of my scraps and give it a try! She posted a challenge to create a gift card holder and here is my take on her challenge!

I was also inspired by the latest CPS sketch #114. Here is my take on this week's sketch!

This is also the card I sent to Ellen, the lucky winner of my Magistical Memories Blog Hop giveaway!

Thanks for stopping by!

and the winner is...

Ellen S!!!!!
