A Rose Is A Rose Digital Cut File and Scrapbook Page

Hello Digital Cut File fans! I'm back with a new cut file I created called A Rose Is A Rose. I used it to help me document these photos of my niece as she celebrated her First Holy Communion. As I was thinking of how to embellish this page and add to the story, the first thing that came to mind were flowers. Flowers seem to make everything a little extra special!

This free cut file can be used with a variety of electronic digital cutting machines to create a full range of projects, including cards, home decor, scrapbook pages and more. The only limit to what you can create using this cut file is your own imagination. This digital file is available in SVG, PNG, DXF and Studio formats and you may download this digital cut file for your own personal use. If you have questions, concerns or comments about my cut files, please leave me a message in the comment section or contact me on Facebook.

I also combined this cut file with the Make A Wreath Cut File. The circle shape from that set helped to ground the photos and the flowers as well as draw your eye into the center of the layout.

If you are looking for more special day scrapbook page ideas, check out another First Communion scrapbook page I made using the Rose Cluster Cut File. These cut files happen to coordinate with each other and I think they would be perfect for a double page layout. Don't you?

Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop 2016

The card I created is all about coffee and friends. I created the background on watercolor paper by blending several colors of Ranger Distress Ink with a Mini Blending Tool. I then splattered it with water using a paint brush and dabbed away the water to leave the lightened splatters.

Next, I stamped the image onto watercolor paper using the Taylored Expressions Perfect Blend   stamp set and my Misti. I then fussy cut around the image and applied watercolor in colors similar to the inks I used to create the background. The final touch was to color in the heart and coffee cup in a pretty pink color using a Zig Clean Color Real Brush Marker.

Sunny Studio Stamps Fresh and Fruity Card | Watercolor Bleaching Technique

I'm super excited to share with you today, that I'm guest designing for Sunny Studio Stamps! If you haven't noticed, I've been creating and sharing more cards lately. I really enjoy the process involved with stamping and coloring. So you can imagine how thrilled I was when Mendi contacted me to ask me to guest design - I immediately started doing a little happy dance! Over on the Sunny Studios Stamps Blog, I'm sharing four cards I created using stamps from her Summer 2016 release. I invite you to stop by and check out my post.

As I was creating my cards, I decided to create an extra card to share here on my blog. For this card, I used the Fresh & Fruity stamp set. I love all the fun fruit shapes and how easy it is to mix and match the sentiments to create just the right one you need. I couldn't have asked for a sweeter Mother and that is why I gave this card to her for Mother's Day.

For this card, I stamped and colored the strawberries using the Bleached Watercolor Technique. I first stamped the strawberries with Versamark onto a piece of watercolor paper and then heat embossed them with white embossing powder. I stamped the sentiment using the same technique.

To create the background I applied Distress Ink with my Ranger ink blending tool in various shades of red.

I then applied water with a small paint brush to the insides of the strawberries and dabbed away the excess ink using a paper towel. This is how you get the bleached look that is part of the fun watercolor bleaching technique. I then splattered the entire piece with a water loaded paint brush and dabbed off the excess water with a paper towel.

To color in the strawberries, I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I used a small paint brush and water to blend the ink and add to the water colored look of the card.

For a added touch of dimension, I tied a piece of red and white bakers twine around the card front.  I then mounted it onto a piece of green cardstock.

Fun Times Scrapbook Page and Digital Cut File

Hello all! Did you all wonder what happened to me? It's been a few weeks since I posted here with any new projects. I've just been busy with everyday life, including a recent trip to visit my family in Missouri and Kentucky. It's amazing how quickly time can pass you by, but at the same time, it's good to focus on family!

As a welcome back post, I thought I'd share a recent layout I created and a new digital cut file I created called Fun Times. This set contains a combo of words that can be mixed and matched for a few different titles, along with the fun wave design I used to create my background. I love how the waves add to the fishing theme of my photo and I think it would be great to use for a variety of water related scrapbook pages such as swimming, or enjoying the beach/lake, or even a water park.

By cutting the waves from several different blue patterned papers, I was able to create a sense of flow across the page. It also let me dig into my stash of papers and get quite a few different patterns on one page without overwhelming the photo.
