Tags and the Chip Art Tool

This month for GCD Studios we were asked to work with some of the Chip Art Chipboard tags. Well, I could not just make a simple tag and as I was playing around the the different sizes and shapes I came up with the idea of creating a triptych. The first one is a little Halloween scene. I created the bird and fence using the Cricut Happy Hauntings cartridge.
For this second one I created a fall themed scene complete with a fun little sunflower I created with some of the Chip Art Chipboard Flowers. Stop by the GCD Studios blog to see more HERE.
For my second project this month I used the Chip Art Tool and created a couple of fun leather bracelets. You can stop by the GCD Studios blog to learn more about how I created mine. These are some of the Chip Art stamps I used on my bracelet.
Here is one of the bracelets I created. I just love wearing it with a fun t-shirt and a pair of jeans!
Thanks for stopping by!

Life changes

OK? WOW! I just realized that it has been a few days since the last post here! I apologize for the lull, however life has been busy and I can explain why! My husband got a new job (YEAH!!!!) and we will be moving within the next couple months. So...needless to say life is a tad crazy right now as we try to get our home ready to put on the market and plan for the move. All of this moving business will probably limit my blog posting a bit as well as some of my other scrappy things, but I will do what I can when I can.

For today I want to share with you the LO I created for the Bo Bunny blog as we focused on Breast Cancer Awareness. We are posting projects over there all week long with this focus. This was a rather difficult project for me to initally start, but once the idea hit me the project flowed well. I was so caught up about the sadness involved on my part and not having any photos that I was dampering my own creativity. As soon as I let go of those self induced constraints the mojo began to flow. Words became the focus of my LO as you can see below.
It is a little difficult to read, but I layered the words mother, grandma, sister, daughter, aunt, cousin and friend alternating the chipboard and acrylic alphas.

My journaling reads:
More than likely you too know some one effected by breast cancer
I have had more experience with the negative side of breast cancer
I watched one of my aunts, a friend and a coworker as they all struggled to fight this disease
Each one of them ultimately lost the battle
On the positive side there is so much more awareness about this disease
And the survival rates are improving
Hopefully some day soon no one will be able to say they know a woman who has lost the battle
We will only know survivors
For my flowers I used the new fabulous friend the Cricut Expression. I created them using the on the Cindy Loo Cartridge. They vary in size from 3 inches to 2 inches. After I cut them out I sprayed them with pink glimmer mist, scrunched them and then let them dry. Once dry, I applied pink ink to the edges, layered them and then added the brad to the center.
I embossed the Bo Bunny chipboard letters using my Cuttlebug and the Sentimentals Collection Cuttlebug Companion.
Another fun techinque I tried for the first time was adding alcohol inks to the acrylic letters. I love how the ink made the letters stand out a little more.
And lastly I used a paper piercing tool to create a fun textured border around the edge of the paper.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Sprouting some Jillibean love!

Happy Friday! If you happen to have stopped by on the Bean Chase, best of luck! If you don't know what I am talking about, then make sure you stop by the Jillibean Soup blog and check out all the details! It is a fun little game Jill has come up with and I am sure you will have a blast playing along! Anyway, while you are here, I have a few of my latest Jillibean Soup projects to share with you. We have been focusing on the Jillibean Soup Sprouts lately and as you can see, I have used them on all of these projects. On this first one I mixed some of the new Christmas Chestnut Soup Sprouts with some of the Red Sprouts.
Here I used some of the Monster Stew Sprouts. They really are perfect for journaling and adding sweet little stories to your layouts.
For this card I actually cut off the top part of one of the Pasta Fagioli Sprouts and used it as part of the sentiment.
I used another one of the Christmas Chestnut Soup Sprouts on this card. For a little fun I ran it through my Cuttlebug and embossed it. Unfortunately, you can't see it too well on these photos, but the embossing adds some nice texture to the card.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a great weekend!

My Little Pumpkin

I hope by now that all of you have seen the Noteworthy journaling cards by Bo Bunny. If not, you must check them out! They come in an adorable ringed binder that makes it look like a little mini album. Today, on the Bo Bunny blog, we are featuring these adorable products and hopefully sharing with all of you some great new and fun ways for you to use them. Here is the layout I created using the Whoo-ligan collection! I choose to use two of the same journaling card (there are two of each design included) as a way to sort of frame my photo.
I distressed the edges on each one of them and then lined them up on each side of the photo.
Another fun little tip I can share is with my title chipboard letters. I painted them with acrylic paint and once they were dry I ran them through my Cuttlebug and embossed them using the jack-o-lantern folder that is part of the Mini Monsters Cuttlebug Companion set. I really love the texture this added to the chipboard.
Thanks again for stopping by and make sure you stop by the Bo Bunny blog to check out what the other designers created!

Creating with Cricut Cake Cartridges

Today I am sharing with you my second Cricut Circle project. Today is "T is for Tuesday" and I choose to focus on some fun scrapbook trends. You can see my full article on the Cricut Circle Blog. Please feel free to stop by and let me know what you think. And don't forget the blog is open to everyone until October 11th, so make sure you take the time to stop by!
I had a great time working with this photo. My photos always seem to be a major source of inspiration for me. I took this photo last summer, when I went camping with my parents and my niece. Here my mom and Emma are having a blast blowing bubbles. Emma loves camping, blowing bubbles and spending time with Grandma. So she was in heaven that weekend. I guess I should have called the LO triple the fun! LOL!!!
Thanks so much for stopping by! See you next time!!!

Creative Scrappers #124

Sketches! I love them! In fact, I usually make a quick sketch before I start working on a LO. It always helps me kind of figure out where I want things to go. They especially help me make sure that I leave room for a title and/or some journaling. I have been known to have to squeeze these in at the end when I realize I am running out of room for them! LOL! So, with all that being said, when Kristine Davidson the owner of Creative Scrappers asked me to guest design for her, I was super excited! They release a fabulous new sketch every Sunday and even have a contest each month with a great prize awarded to one lucky winner who plays along with at least one of the sketches for that month!

So without further ado, here is the sketch I got to play with...
And here is my take on it...
(Supplies: Bo Bunny Whooligan Collection)
I also want to give a special shout out to my BFF Rachel for sharing these photos with me! They really made this sketch and LO come together! Thanks so much girlie!!!

Cindy Loo

This is my first Cricut Circle Blog project and I am sharing it with you today! It was first posted yesterday on the Cricut Circle Blog as they introduced me as part of the new design team!
It is a altered frame/home decor piece that measures 14 x 14 inches.
You can't see all the glitter and shimmer in the photos, but the background was coated with Glimmer Mist and sections of the deer, squirrel and outer border are coated with Stickles! Aren't those 2 little critters just adorable?! I fell in love with them instantly when I first saw them!
Bling found it's way onto this project by way of the cute little trees!
I got the wooden frame at Hobbly Lobby. I painted it with white acrylic paint and then decoupaged the Doily 2 border images around the edge.
(Patterned paper and cardstock: Bo Bunny from various collections)

Thanks so much for stopping by and remember to make sure to leave a comment HERE for your chance to win a Gypsy!!!
