Newton's Nook Designs Holiday Release | Day 4

Hello friends and welcome to the final day of Newton's Nook Designs Holiday Release! Today we're revealing the final 4 stamp and coordinating die sets that will be available in the Newton's Nook Designs Shop to purchase, starting tomorrow, October 19.

Golden Retriever Dog Lover Christmas Card | Happy Howl-idays Stamp Set

The first card I'm sharing with you using the new Happy Howl-idays Stamp Set and this is my favorite Newton's Nook Designs Stamp Set to date. Why you ask? The answer is simple...it has a Golden Retriever on it! And if you happen to know anything about me...I kind of love Golden Retrievers and happen to have 2 of them! So you can imagine my delight when I first saw this stamp design!

To create this card, I stamped and colored the image with Copic Markers. I then adhered the adorable dogs to a piece of white cardstock that I die cut using the stitched scallop from the Flags & Frames Die Set. For the background, I used a technique I shared on my Holiday Cheer Shaker Card I shared yesterday. If you happened to miss that card, pop on over there and check it out.

Sloth Like Christmas Card | Slothy Christmas Stamp Set

Sloths! Aren't they just the cutest things?! And then when you add a Santa Hat, they just get even more cute! My second card was created using the Slothy Christmas Stamp Set. I again stamped and colored the images with Copic Markers.

To give my little sloth something to hang onto, I added some pine boughs die cut using the Pines & Holly Die Set. I then adhered everything to a piece of white cardstock that I die cut using the stitched scallop frame from the Frames & Flags Die Set.

Wobble Toad Christmas Card | Mistle Toad Stamp Set

My third and final card today using the new mini stamp set called Mistle Toad! I once again stamped and colored the image using Copic Markers. I then die cut a couple of tags using the  Fancy Edges Tag Die Set. For a fun twist on things I adhered the toad image onto one of the tags using an action wobble spring. I love that it now looks like the toad is hopping around!

I then finished off the card by layering some pretty patterned papers and a red bow.

Newton's Nook Designs Holiday Release | Day 3

Hello friends and welcome to Day 3 of Newton's Nook Designs Holiday Release! Today we're showcasing 2 new stamp and die sets. One is perfect for all the coloring enthusiasts and the other is perfect for those who love shaker cards!

Merry Christmas Stockings Card | Holiday Stockings Stamp Set

The first card I'm sharing today was created using the new Holiday Stockings Stamp Set. I colored each stocking with Copic Markers and die cut them with the coordinating die set. I then personalized them by adding a name to each stocking...one for each of us...including our sweet Bubba's! On a side note, the stocking die that coordinates with this new stamp set also coordinates with a stamp set released last year called Stylish Stockings.

To complete the card, I stamped a sentiment from the stamp set onto a white cardstock banner die cut using the Frames & Flags Die Set. Before adhering it to the card, I wrapped a bit of red jute around the end of it.

Holiday Cheer Shaker Card | Ornamental Wishes Stamp Set and Ornament Shaker Die Set

This next stamp and die set are perfect for the shaker card lover! However, don't think that that is the only way to use this set. Make sure to check out how the other designers use this set and show you just how versatile it can be! I personally love creating shaker cards, so that is was I created to share with you today.

I began taking the solid ornament die from the Ornament Shaker Die Set and cut a piece of white cardstock with it. Using the Ornament Wishes Stamp Set, I stamped a sentiment in the center. This piece will be the back side of the shaker. I then took a piece of Double Sided Adhesive Foam and die cut it using the ornament frame die. I peeled off the adhesive liner and adhered this on top of the sentiment/back piece. To fill the shaker, I used one of the confetti dies that cuts out "Ho Ho Ho" and mixed in some sequins from my stash. Next, I die cut an Acetate Sheet using the solid ornament die and adhered this to the top of the double sided adhesive foam. To complete the shaker box, I die cut another ornament frame from red cardstock and adhered that on top of the acetate.

To further embellish the ornament, I die cut a topper from gold foil. For the final touch, I added some holly using the holly leaves and berries dies from the Pines & Holly Die Set. I hung the shaker using a bit of gold cording and wrapped it over the top of a piece of green patterned paper that I cut out using the stitched rectangle die from the Frames & Flags Die Set.

For the background, I took a piece of Bristol Paper and the Holiday Foliage Stencil. I inked each cut out section with Distress Oxide Ink using a finger tip sponge dauber to help apply the ink into the small sections. I then finished it off by inking the edges of the stenciled piece before applying to the card base.

Newton's Nook Designs Holiday Release | Day 2

Hello friends and welcome to Day 2 of Newton's Nook Designs Holiday Release! Today we are revealing 2 new stamp sets called Nutcracker Squeak and Caroling Newton.

Meow To The World Card | Caroling Newton

For my first card today, I'm sharing what I created using the adorable Caroling Newton stamp set. This adorable trio of cats are caroling away and are blissfully unaware of the little mouse that has joined them!

To create the background, I first inked up the new Evergreen Stencil with Distress Ink in Peeled Paint and Mowed Lawn. I then placed the new Petite Snow Stencil on top of this and added Texture Paste. I love the bit of dimension and texture that this adds to the background design. I created a snow covered ground using the stitched hill from the Land Borders Die Set. I then stamped, colored and then die cut the caroling kitties and mouse and adhered them using double sided foam adhesive. To complete the card, I stamped the sentiment onto the snowy base.

Visions Of Sugarplums Card | Nutcracker Squeak

My second card today uses the Nutcracker Squeak stamp set. I stamped, colored and die cut all of the characters before I really had an idea of what I was going to do for this card. I just loved the cute little mice so much, I only knew that I wanted to try to use all of them on my card!

After playing around with their placement for a bit, I finally came up with this layout. The addition of the candy was inspired by the sentiment I choose to use and they are from the Newton's Candy Cane Stamp Set.

To create the background, I inked up the new Music Stencil with a light gray ink. I then adhered all of the images using double sided foam adhesive for a touch of dimension.

Believe In The Magic Card | Winter Memories

The card I'm sharing today uses the new Winter Memories stamp set. It is a beautiful set of silhouette style images the include horse drawn sleighs and ice skaters enjoying a winter wonderland. To create my card, I started with the background. I first die cut a piece of white cardstock with the postage edge die from the Framework Die Set. I then took the stitched hill die from the Land Borders Die Set and made a mask along the bottom part of the frame and used Therm O Web Purple Tape to mask off the sides for the frame. Using Distress Oxide Ink in Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch, I inked up the top part of the frame to create the sky.

To give the look of snow I did 2 things. First, I splattered some water onto the inked paper and then dabbed it dry with a paper towel. The second thing I did was to stamp the snowflakes with Versafine Embossing Ink and then heat set them with white embossing powder. I did this second step after I stamped my scene with Ranger Archival Ink in Black (When stamping on top of Distresss Oxide ink, make sure to use a permanent ink such as Ranger Archival Ink or Versafine Pigment Ink. Otherwise, you will cause the Oxide Ink to react with the water in the ink.)
