Bo Bunny Key Lime Layout

Today I have a fun NEW layout I just created while playing with the NEW Bo Bunny Key Lime collection!!! As soon as this collection arrived at my front door, I had to play with it! I was inspired to create the fun triangular background after seeing a layout created by the so very talented Ashley Horton.

I used my sewing machine to stitch along some strips of chevrons that I cut from one of the pattern papers called Makin' Waves. It is probably my favorite paper in the entire collection!!!

I layered three different patterns to create the shapes and then stitched around the inside orange pattern using navy thread and my sewing machine to give it a little definition and texture.  I also played with some Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Mustard and Tropicana Teal on the background by creating a few splatters here and there.

Supplies:
Patterned Paper, Brads, Stickers, Noteworthy: Bo Bunny Key Lime
Buttons: Bo Bunny Family Is
Spray Ink: Heidi Swapp Color Shine Mustard and Tropicana Teal

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you are able to get your hands on this collection!!! It is so bright and cheery!!!

Paper Bakery May Sketch Challenge #1

Hello everyone! Today I am sharing my very first Paper Bakery Kit Club post with you! For today's post I am revealing the first Sketch Challenge for May.  I also have a short tutorial to share with you on embossing the super cool Crate Paper Photo Overlays and altering the gorgeous green ribbon that is included in the May Scrapbook Kit Glitz Roadshow.

First, let me share Sketch #1 with you:

This is my take on the sketch! I closely followed the sketch by using one 4 x 6 photo, layered pieces behind the photo,  similar title placement and one larger piece of paper behind everything.  From there, I choose to place the strip below the photo and then add a journaling block and embellishments.

I used the May Scrapbook Kit Glitz Roadshow to create my layout. Here is a close up of one of the cool Crate Paper die cuts and that gorgeous green ribbon I mentioned!

On this close up you can see one of the exclusive Paper Bakery flair that is included in the kit!

To create my title I cut the word using my Silhouetted Cameo and a font called Pacifico. I cut it from white cardstock three times and then glued all the layers together. This gave it a little more thickness and dimension. I then covered all the letters with gold glitter glue. Now if you don't care for the white edges, I would recommend cutting the words from another color of paper, maybe kraft or gold. And the title still wasn't quite dimensional enough so I adhered it to my layout using double sided foam tape.

The number strip you see here is part of the exclusive May Kit Cut File created by Laina Lamb!  I cut it out of the kraft bag that my kit came in and then glued it on top of another strip cut from white cardstock.

Now it's tutorial time! Take a peak at this texture! Don't you just love it?!? It was super easy to achieve.

Simply take one of the photo overlays and sandwich it inside your desired embossing folder.

Run it through your embossing machine.

And ta-da! It is embossed with some gorgeous texture!!!  Now all you have to do is adhere it to your layout. I found staples to work really well for attaching the overlays.  Some of the staples are hidden behind other embellishments and the main photo, while others are visible.

The next fun technique is with the green ribbon. Begin by lightly misting it with water.

Wad it and wrinkle it up in your hand.

Keep squeezing and wrinkling and then set it to the side to dry. If you want to speed up the drying process carefully dry it with your heat tool. Be cautious not to get to close to the ribbon so that you don't risk burning it. Once dry, it is ready to use!

Here are the details for playing along with us using the sketch:

Most importantly we want you to have fun, because that is the most important part of the challenge!

First up the blog hop...

Juliana Michaels (you are here!)

Remember to leave a comment at each blog along the way :)

Now, I want to share what I created for the blog hop. This is the first layout I have created using a kit from The Paper Bakery and it was created using their upcoming May Kit!!! As soon as I opened the box, I was overjoyed with all the fabulous goodies inside and I was immediately inspired to start creating!!! I used the NSD SKETCH as inspiration for my design, but instead of three images I choose to use two.  Another change I made was to downsize the larger rectangles in the background. A fun little technique that I can share is that I used the Crate Paper photo overlays as design elements and additional layers behind my photos. I thought that they added a nice contrast with their black borders.   Several of the design elements on the layout were cut with my Silhouette. The "today bubble" is from the from The Paper Bakery NSD free cut file, the "&" is part of the cut file that comes with the May Kit, and the "zigzags" are my own creations based off the sketch I created. Look for another post in the very near future where I will share a bit more on how I created my "today" title pieces!!!

And...here is our exclusive SKETCH created just for National Scrapbook Day ! If you want the chance to win another prize, create any kind of project inspired by the sketch by Saturday May 11 and share it with us. This gives you one week to play along. SRM Stickers | Fourth of July Treat Containers

Happy Friday!!! Today I am sharing the second project I created for SRM Stickers as their guest designer this week! If you haven't stopped by the SRM Stickers Blog, I highly recommend it! They are having a GIVEAWAY just for leaving a comment on my guest designer post!!!

This project was created using three different sizes of the SRM Tubes! I would have loved to have some red, white & blue candy to fill them with, but I think you get the idea that these would make some cute party favors for the 4th of July!!!

All I did was dress them up using the We've Got Your Border Patriotic stickers! I cut them to length to fit the tube I wanted to add it to and then saved what was left to use on another tube! I didn't even use a full sheet to do these three tubes.

To create the tag, I adhered the circle label sticker from the Patriotic Stickers By The Dozen set to a piece of white cardstock and punched it out with a circle punch. I then layered it on a little bit larger circle punched from red cardstock and then finally added it to a scallop circle punched from navy cardstock. To attach it to the tube, I punched a small hole in the top of the tag and then tied it in place using some of The Twinery twine.

Supplies:
Stickers: SRM Press - Stickers By The Dozen Patriotic; We've Got Your Border Patriotic
Twine: The Twinery - Maraschino, Denim and Platinum Shimmer
Tubes: SRM Press - The Tube, The Mini Tube and The Tiny Tube

Thank you for stopping by to say HI!!! And I also wanted to remind you to stop back by again tomorrow for a fun little blog hop with The Paper Bakery!!!

SRM Stickers Guest Designer

Happy Thursday everyone! Today I am up on the SRM Stickers Blog as a guest designer! I was thrilled when Susan asked me to create a few projects for her using some of her new releases!!! I created several projects and I will be sharing them with you here over the next few days. You can see all of them today on the SRM Stickers Blog and I highly recommend that you stop by because they are having a GIVEAWAY just for leaving a comment on my guest designer post!!!

The project I choose to share with you today is a wedding card and gift box that I created for my niece who is getting married at the end of this month!   The new Wedding Stickers By The Dozen were perfect to create both the card and gift box. I used one of the round labels as the center for each of my scallop punched flowers.  I also used the sentiment on both.

I created the gift box using the medium Clear Pillow Box. I embossed it with my Cuttlebug and then added the sentiment sticker and layered flower.

Those super cool cork butterflies are from Little Yellow Bicycle.  I dressed them up with a bit of twine from The Twinery (which I am absolutely in LOVE with!!!). To created the body, I folded a small length of twine in half. I then tied a knot making the folded piece the length of the butterflies body.  Next, I coated the twine with Fabric Stiffener to make it easier to attach to the butterflies. Once dry, I trimmed the antenna to the desired length and adhered them to the cork using Glossy Accents.

For the card I also embossed the patterned paper with the same embossing folder that I used on the pillow box. I then added the large "Forever" sticker which is from the We've Got Your Sticker Forever set.

Supplies:
Stickers: SRM Press - We've Got Your Sticker Forever; Stickers By The Dozen Wedding
Pillow Box: SRM Press - Medium
Twine: The Twinery - Pink Sorbet
Pattern Paper: Little Yellow Bicycle - Fern & Forest Girl 6 x 6 Paper Pad
Cork Embellishments - Little Yellow Bicycle - Naturals Collection
Punches: McGill, EK Success
Embossing Folder: Cricut Cuttlebug - 4 Piece Starter Set

Thank you for your visit! Please stop by the SRM Stickers Blog to see my other creations and for your chance at a fun SRM giveaway!!!
