25 Days of Christmas Tags | Sunny Studio Stamps

Hello friends! I'm super excited to once again be joining Tracy McNeely's annual 25 Days of Christmas Tags and you can find all the details here. Each of the 25 days, starting today November 1, Tracy will be sharing a different sponsor, inspiration from their design team AND an awesome prize being given away by that sponsor. Today it's Sunny Studio Stamps day to be featured and they are giving away a $25 gift code!

For the set of tags I made I used two of my favorite stamp sets because they feature Santa and I'm always a sucker for a cute Santa!  The stamp sets I used are Santa Claus Lane and North Pole Stamp Set by Sunny Studio Stamps.

I used the Build A Tag 2 Dies to make the base for each tag. I used the scalloped edged die to cut patterned papers from the Holiday Cheer 6x6 Paper Pad in a mix of green patterns.

Next, I stamped all the images and colored them with Copic Markers. Once the coloring was completed, I die cut them using the coordinating die sets. To finish off each tag, I added a length of red and white twine.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and don't forget to check out the inspiration from the rest of the Sunny Studio Design Team over on the 25 Days of Christmas Tags!

Sunny Studio Stamps 5th Birthday Blog Hop

Hello friends! Welcome to the Sunny Studio Stamps 5th Birthday Blog Hop! I'm thrilled to be a part of this event and to help Mendi (the owner) celebrate this very special milestone for her company! There are loads of fun things going on along with the blog hop, including some great promotions that will save you money and some amazing giveaways. You can check out all of the details below and learn more about the Slimline Christmas Card I created and am sharing with you today.

As part of the blog hop, you'll be seeing some fabulous inspiration using the brand new Sunny Studio Stamps Fall/Winter Release. You should be arriving here from the talented Isha and your next stop from here is the amazing Leanne.

I'm a huge fan of all things Christmas and a Santa lover, so I choose to create and share a card featuring the North Pole Stamp Set. I used this along with the new Slimline Scallop Frame Dies to create my card.

I stamped and colored all of the images from the North Pole Stamp Set using Copic Markers and then die cut them using the coordinating die set. Making scenes with stamped images is something I love to do, so I thought it would be fun to divide the space on the front of the card into three sections. Each one is 2.75 x 2.5 inches and cut from a piece of green patterned paper that can be found in the Very Merry 6x6 Paper Pad. I adhered each section onto a piece of white cardstock that I had die cut using the new Slimline Scallop Frame. I then went about creating a small scene on each section using the various images I had colored. When doing this sort of scene creating, I always try to color a bunch of extra "filler" images. In this case, it was presents, and I used them to fill in the spaces here and there on each section.

I hope you enjoyed this Slimline Christmas Card inspiration using the Sunny Studio Stamps North Pole Stamp Set. Now it's time to learn about all the good stuff!

25 Days of Christmas Tags | Sunny Studio Stamps

Hello friends! I'm super excited to be joining Tracy McNeely's annual 25 Days of Christmas Tags! This year is her 9th anniversary of hosting the event. You can find all the details here. And...be sure to visit the daily posts on Tracey's blog for more tag inspiration and a chance to win today's giveaway from Sunny Studio Stamps! Each day there is a new sponsor and prize revealed along with some fabulous inspiration.

Today I'm sharing a quick and easy tag that's perfect for mass production. I like to create a bunch of quick tags for the gifts and then spend most of my crafting time creating the cards I give out to family and friends!

Christmas Wreath Gift Tag by Juliana Michaels featuring Sunny Studio Stamps Scallop Tag Circle Die and Season's Greetings Stamp Set

To begin, I simply die cut the Scallop Circle Tag Die from white cardstock. I then used the Season's Greetings stamp set to stamp a wreath onto the tag. I created a template to use with my stamping platform to make this super easy to repeat stamp.

All you have to do is line the tag up with the template, use some temporary adhesive to hold it in place on the template, place it in the corner of your stamping platform and then rotate it to stamp the evergreen sprig on each side. Grab a different sprig and maybe a different color ink and repeat again until the wreath is to your liking. I then stamped the berry's and die cut them with the coordinating die set. The inks I used are Scrapbook.com's Exclusive Premium Hybrid Ink in Cardinal Red for the berry's and Pine, Pear, Succulent and Olive for the sprigs.

I then stamped the "to" and "from" with black in and added a red bow! To attach it to the bag, I cut a slit along the edge of the top part of the tag so the hole would just slide over the handle. Like I said, easy peasy tags!

Sunny Studio 4th Birthday Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello friends and welcome to the Sunny Studio 4th Birthday Blog Hop! I'm so excited to be a part of this fun hop and to celebrate this wonderful milestone with Sunny Studio. Let me share a bit about what's going on today. As you hop along, you're going to be inspired with projects featuring the upcoming Sunny Studio Stamps Fall Release! AND...you will be able to PRE-order the new release during the blog hop! Yep, you read that correctly! Also, no blog hop would be complete without some fabulous prizes! You'll have the chance to win a $25 gift code from me to the Sunny Studio Online Shop! In fact, there is a total of $450 in prizes being given away during this hop, so make sure you check out all the details below.

You should be coming here from the fabulous Ana Anderson, but if not, you can certainly start here and continue along the hop. But first, let me share a set of Christmas Tags featuring the gorgeous new Layered Poinsettia Die! I've created 2 versions of the same tag...one clean and one distressed! I'd love to know which one you like the most!

CLEAN & DISTRESSED LAYERED POINSETTIA CHRISTMAS TAGS

For the clean set of tags, I began by taking the Scalloped Circle and Square Tag Dies and die cutting a piece of off white cardstock to create the tag base. I then repeated the die cutting with a piece of brown cardstock.

Clean Layered Poinsettia Christmas Tag featuring Sunny Studio Stamps Layered Poinsettia Die, Wood Grain Embossing Folder and Scalloped Tags

Next, I used scissors to trim off the scalloped part of the die cut which left me with the inside piece. I then embossed this using the Woodgrain Embossing Folder and adhered it to the center of the tag. I then die cut the gorgeous Layered Poinsettia Die using several shades of red cardstock to create the main flower part. I also used some green and yellow cardstock to create the leaves and center.

Using a fine tipped adhesive applicator, I adhered all of the layers together. I found it helpful to refer to the instructions that come with the die to help line up all the layers. I then adhered the finished poinsettia to the tag using double sided foam adhesive. To finish off each tag, I added a sentiment stamped from the Merry Mice Stamp Set and added a bit of green and white bakers twine.

For my second set of tags, I went a bit more distressed and grungy. I once again started off by die cutting cream cardstock with the Scalloped Circle and Square Tag Dies. This time instead of using brown cardstock for the inside piece, I die cut a piece of water color paper. I once again trimmed off the scalloped part and then embossed it with the Woodgrain Embossing Folder. I then took Distress Ink in Gathered Twig and Espresso and ink blended over the embossed paper. To add to the grungy look, I also distressed the edges of the paper using the backside of an X-acto knife.

Distressed Layered Poinsettia Christmas Tag featuring Sunny Studio Stamps Layered Poinsettia Die, Wood Grain Embossing Folder and Scalloped Tags

For the poinsettia, I created my own custom red and green paper using Distress Sprays and Distress Oxide Sprays.

RED: I spritzed watercolor paper with water and then sprayed it with a mix of Distress Spray in Fired Brick, Festive Berries and Aged Mahogany. I dried it with a heat tool and then sprayed the paper with Distress Oxide Spray in Fired Brick and Peeled Paint. I then sprayed the paper with a bit of water to activate the oxide. I then dried it and then sprayed on just a bit of Distress Spray in Old Paper.

GREEN: I spritzed watercolor paper with water and then sprayed it with a mix of Distress Spray in Peeled Paint, Bundled Sage and Old Paper. I dried it with a heat tool and then sprayed the paper with Distress Oxide Spray in Iced Spruce and Peeled Paint. I then sprayed the paper with a bit of water to activate the oxide. I then dried it and then sprayed on just a bit of Distress Spray in Old Paper.

For the yellow parts, I inked a piece of watercolor paper with Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide.

Once all of the papers were ready to go, I die cut each of the layers from its respective color. I then inked the edges of each piece with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and then began assembling each Poinsettia.

To finish off each tag, I again added the sentiment from the Merry Mice Stamp Set and then for a vintage touch I added crinkle ribbon died with Distress Spray to coordinate with the tags.

Rainbow Embossed Mixed Media Card | Sunny Studio Stamps

Hello friends! Today I'm excited to be sharing a mixed media style card I recently created featuring the Lots of Dots Embossing Folder from Sunny Studio Stamps.

To get started, I die cut a piece of Bristol Paper using the stitched border die from the Frilly Frames Retro Petals Die. I then embossed this using the Lots of Dots Embossing Folder. Next, I took a rainbow of Distress Oxide inks and applied them at a diagonal rainbow order across the embossed paper. For this card I used Wilted Violet, Blueprint Sketch, Mowed Lawn, Spiced Marmalade, Squeezed Lemon, Picked Raspberries and Candied Apple. I then splattered water onto the paper using a small paint brush and dabbed it dry with a paper towel.

To further add to the mixed media style I then splattered a slightly darker Distress Ink onto each section. I used Seedless Preserves, Faded Jeans, Peeled Paint, Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed, and Festive Berries. To do this, I tapped the ink pad onto my glass mat, added a bit of water and then picked up the ink and water with a small paint brush and splattered it into the corresponding section of color.

Once the background was complete, I then went about adding the sentiment. I die cut the Rainbow Word Die from black cardstock 3 times and glued them together. I then stamped the sentiments from the Over The Rainbow Stamp Set onto white cardstock and trimmed it into small strips.

Since you can't have a rainbow without a little rain, I decided to add some clouds cut from white cardstock using the Fluffy Clouds Dies. I then finished it off with some Clear Drops Mix #2 to represent the rain!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed this mixed media style card featuring the Lots of Dots Embossing Folder. If you are looking for more inspiration using the adorable products from Sunny Studio Stamps, make sure to visit the Sunny Studio Stamps Blog!

Sunny Studio Stamps 3rd Birthday Blog Hop

Hello friends and welcome to the Sunny Studio Stamps 3rd Birthday Blog Hop! I'm so excited to be a part of this year's celebration and to share a set of Christmas Gift Tags I created using some products from their brand new holiday release! It's been amazing to watch Sunny Studio grow and bloom these past few years and I'm so happy that I've been able to be a part of it. Today we're celebrating with a fun blog hop that includes loads of inspiration from some pretty talented card makers and what blog hop would be complete without some fabulous giveaways?!  Make sure to check out all the blog hop and giveaway details below!

Christmas Gift Tags

To create this set of Christmas Gift Tags, I began by die cutting the white cardstock using the Build A Tag No. 2 Dies. I then embossed each tag using the Cable Knit Embossing Folder. Yes, I said embossing folder! Sunny Studio now has added embossing folders to their line of products and I'm betting they are going to become a new favorite craft supply for you!

I then die cut a topper for each tag using some of the patterned paper from the Holiday Cheer 6x6 Paper Pad. I just have to tell you, the patterns and colors in this new paper pad are perfect for all of your holiday paper crafting projects. I love that there is a mix of colorful and festive patterns along with nice monochromatic patterns in the same cheerful colors!

Once the tag bases were created, I went about embellishing each tag with a different alpaca from the Alpaca Holiday Stamp Set. I stamped each image onto Neenah Classic Crest 110lb Smooth Solar White Paper using Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black. I then colored them in using Copic Markers. Once all of the coloring was complete, I die cut them using the coordinating Alpaca Holiday Die Set.

I paired each adorable alpaca with a present or two to create a cute little scene on each tag.

Polar Bear Christmas Card | Sunny Studio Stamps

Hello friends and welcome! I'm excited to share with you today that I'm guesting over on the Sunny Studio Stamp Blog with a cute Polar Bear Christmas Shaker Card. I hope you'll stop by and check it out. While I had my Sunny Studio stamps out and was creating, I also made another Polar Bear Christmas card using the new Playful Polar Bears and Frosty Flurries Stamp Set that I wanted to share with you.

Polar Bear Christmas Card | Playful Polar Bears Stamp Set

Polar Bear Christmas Card by Juliana Michaels featuring Playful Polar Bears by Sunny Studio Stamps

I began by stamping the adorable polar bears, the present and the hat and colored them with my Chameleon Pens. I then die cut them using the coordinating Playful Polar Bear Die Set. Because of how the dies are made, the polar bears look like they are holding the presents!

To create the white panel behind the bears, I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to 4 x 5.25 inches. I then used the scallop and the dotted dies from the Fish Tail II Die Set to cut the panel at an angle and give it a bit of a fun edge.

I then took the Frosted Flurries Stamp and repeatedly stamped it with Versamark Embossing Ink over the entire piece. I then heat embossed it with white embossing powder. This gives the background a subtle bit of texture and interest.

The final touch for my card was a bit of red and white baker's twine...kind of reminds me of peppermints! Does it for you too?!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and don't forget to head over and check out my Polar Bear Christmas Shaker Card on the Sunny Studio blog.
