So did everyone have a wonderful Mother's Day weekend? We did! It was filled with some household chores including cleaning our deck on Saturday, but Sunday was pure relaxation and time with my nieces and my Mom. My Mom loved her gift and card...especially the licorice jelly beans!

Now for the scrappy stuff!
Today I am sharing my latest reveal as a CT member with ACOT. I was asked to use the Thrift Shop collection by October Afternoon and I loved every minute working with it! I love the perfectly primary color combo of red, yellow, blue and green! It is one of those collections that just makes me happy on the inside!!! I am going to share a secret with you all today. ACOT is going to be THE PLACE TO BE this weekend to celebrate National Scrapbook Day! It all starts on Friday, April 30th at 2:00 PM EST and continues through Sunday, May 2 to at least 8:00 PM EST. We have so many awesome things going on the entire weekend! Yes, the entire weekend! Hello everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend and remembered to "spring forward" with your clocks! I always struggle with losing an hour, so I was quite happy about getting to take a nap yesterday afternoon.

Today, I want to share with you the layouts I created for my ACOT reveal. For my article, I focused on how you can use themed papers to create layouts that are a different theme. In this case, the line I used was "On the Boardwalk" by Graphic 45. It is very beach themed, but I certainly didn't use it that way at all. Just wanted to share the recent projects I created using the Elegance line by K & Company! My full reveal article with detail photos, instructions and tips is up on the ACOT site HERE! This line is seriously gorgeous...one of those lines that is way more appreciated in real life! Shimmery, glittery, gorgeousness!!! And it is so perfect for wedding photos! These are all photos from my wedding! I am having a hard time believing that we will be celebrating our 5th anniversary this year! Time flies, when you are having fun!!! And last, but not least, a card from the scraps!!!

One other thing to share....

Just wanted to quickly share some of the projects I created for ACOT this month using We R Memory Keepers Merry & Bright line! I really enjoyed working with these products and the color combination is so amazing! If you want to check out my full reveal article you can find it HERE!

I have a few scrappy projects to share with you today! The first one I want to share with you is an altered project I created using Bo Bunny's Flutter Butter line. I just love the combination of colors in this line and the chocolate brown offers such a wonderful contrast to the blues and greens! The paper line name (Flutter Butter) and of course the adorable butterfly design on the papers inspired me to pull out this butterfly "skeleton" puzzle I purchased awhile ago at Michael's. It seemed to me to be a perfect match for an altered project! I then created a bed of paper roses for it to sit among!

I created the roses using a tutorial by Maria Holder. I used my Silhouette to cut out the flower shapes and then followed her tutorial on how to create the roses. They are very simple to make and I think they add a nice touch! After creating these, I have been on the search for other flower designs and realized that the Silhouette has several different 3D flowers available!!! More fun for the future! LOL!!!



How to alter wooden projects:
Sand the wooden pieces.
Paint the pieces, especially the edges, a color similar to the paper you are going to cover it with.
Glue the pattern paper to the wooden piece.
Cut around each wooden piece using an x-acto knife to remove the excess paper.
Sand the paper edges with a fine grit sand paper.
Ink the edges if desired.

I also have my October reveal article for ACOT posted today! This month I worked with Sassafras Lass's Amplify line! I found it a bit challenging to start with...the colors and designs are bit out of my comfort zone! However, after taking a step back and a deep breath, I was able to step outside the box and have some fun with their products!
