Thinking Of You Card by Juliana Michaels featuring Newton's Nook Designs Cottage Garden Stamp Set

One of my favorite places to look for inspiration is Pinterest, and that is where I headed before I started to create with this stamp set. I typed Scandinavian designs into the search bar and came across this fun tote bag image. Immediately, I was inspired to create a similar type pattern using a bunch of the images from the stamp set.

Stamped Scandinavian Pattern Card Design | Featuring Newton's Nook Cottage Garden Stamp Set, MISTI and Distress Ink

To create the pattern, I began by placing a piece of watercolor paper, cut to 4x5.25 inches, into the corner of my MISTI. I then played around with where to position all of the images and one sentiment until the card was covered with images. To fill the space to the right of the little flower, I stamped that image 2 more times to create a row of flowers. Once I had my pattern figured out, I was ready to start stamping.

The entire pattern is stamped with Versamark Watermark Embossing Ink and then heat embossed with white embossing powder. I then applied Distress Ink using a foam blending tool.

Next, I flicked a little water onto the paper using a paint brush and then dabbed it dry with a paper towel. The final touch was to tie a piece of jute around the panel and attach it to my card base.

By using the MISTI to create this pattern, I was able to easily stamp this image multiple

Newton's Nook Designs March Release | Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of the Newton's Nook March Release! Today the new Lovable Laundry stamp and coordinating Stitched Onesie die is being revealed. This set is perfect for welcoming and celebrating all the little ones that have arrived or who will soon be here. Make sure to keep reading to learn about the card I created and then how to enter for your chance to win the Lovable Laundry stamp set!

The little onesies in this set, just begged to be hung on a clothesline and I also couldn't resist creating both a little boy and little girl version.

Welcome Baby Cards by Juliana Michaels featuring Newton's Nook Designs Lovable Laundry Stamp and Die Set

To create my card, I began by creating the cloud background using the new Sky Border Die Set. I used a similar die cutting technique to create this background as the one I used in creating the Cloud Background on my Happy Birthday card featuring Winton Takes Flight set.

Once I had die cut the sky, I then die cut some grass using the grass die from the Lawn Borders Die Set. Next, I stamped and colored each of the onesies and then die cut them using the coordinating Loveable Laundry Die. I attached a length of jute to the card and then adhered the onesies with double sided foam tape to give them a little dimension.

Here's a closer look at the little girl version. I used some of the same stamps, I just switched out the colors a bit to give it a more "feminine" color scheme.

As soon as I saw Winston piloting that cute little airplane, I was immediately inspired to incorporate the Sky Borders Die Set to create a cloudy sky background. Here's how I did it:

Happy Birthday Card by Juliana Michaels featuring Newton's Nook Designs Winston Takes Flight Stamp and Die Set and Sky Border Dies

Inlaid Die Cut + Distress Ink Cloud Background

Cut a piece of watercolor paper to 4 x 5.25 inches.
Use a piece of low tack tape to hold the die in place near the bottom of the card. Run it through your manual die cutting machine.
Move the die up a little higher and slide it over a bit to the right or left on the paper, tape it in place and run it through your die cut machine.

Repeat this same process making sure to move the die a little bit to the left or right. You want to try to offset the shapes so that each cut doesn't line up exactly.

Next, use foam ink blenders to apply Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to the bottom edge of each cut piece. Remember to tap off some of the excess ink before you start applying the ink to the paper. Lightly blend the ink toward the top of each piece.

Now apply Salty Ocean Distress Ink to the bottom edge and again make sure to tap off some of the excess ink before you begin applying the ink. After you've completed the inking process, adhere your die cut & Distress Ink cloud background to your card front.

Happy Birthday Shaker Card by Juliana Michaels featuring Newton's Nook Designs Newton Loves Cake

This week's challenge is a Birthday theme and the recent Newton Loves Cake stamp set was calling my name. They have several other adorable stamp sets with a birthday theme that would also be perfect to use when creating your card. These include: Newton's Birthday Bash, Pug Hugs, and Beautiful Wings - just to name a few!

I created a shaker box using the layered die cut paper technique.  For this technique, all you have to do is die cut 5-6 of the same shape and glue them together to create the box. Make sure to rub a powder tool around the edges before adding your sequins and fillers to prevent them from sticking to any glue that might have squeezed out from in between the layers when you adhered them together.

I sure hope you find some time to play along with us for the current Inky Paws Challenge! You have until March 17 to play along. I can't wait see what you create and share with us!

Cards with Therm O Web DecoFoil and Transfer Gel

Hello friends! When I'm creating any sort of project, I hate to let my scraps go to waste. Recently, I shared on the Therm O Web blog how to use their Transfer Gel and Deco Foil scraps to create a set of cards. Today, I wanted to share 2 more cards I made using this same technique and the scraps I made to do the step by step tutorial over on their blog.

When I was playing around with the idea and creating the first set of cards, I didn't take any photos of what I was doing. After I decided this project was going to work, I had to recreate the technique in order to take some photos and share the tutorial. I  then ended up with another set of backgrounds. And, since I really don't like to waste things, I decided to create 2 more cards and share them with you here today.

The first set have a more feminine style to them, so I choose to give these a bit more masculine feel. I also had a certain someone in mind as I was creating them and they will be headed out in the mail to them this week.

For these cards, I used the MFT Stamps Count The Stars stamp set and Stars and Wishes die set. To die cut the stars I used MFT Stamps Die-Namics Stitched Star Stax. I die cut the large word from Fun Foam. I love how this gives the sentiment a bit more dimension without too much bulk. This is especially nice if you want to send your cards in the mail!
