Most of us know someone who is either getting ready to have a baby or just had a baby. I know I do!!!
A good friend of ours and my niece are both expecting!!! With this in mind, I was inspired to create a baby themed card for the recent Cricut Hello Thursday edition on May 3. The carts released that day are super cute and one of my newest favorites was released...Pretty Pennants. It is perfect for banners of all sizes, but I always enjoy a challenge and trying to think outside the box. So I went outside the banner and used it to create a card! I used the Cricut Craft Room (you could also use your Gypsy) to create the card base . I doubled the image and then welded them together. This is a great technique to use any time you want to create a card when a cartridge doesn't come with the card option and it's perfect to use when creating shaped cards.
I cut the stork image out several times from white cardstock and layered it to give it more dimension. I really wanted it to be the focal point of my card. I then had fun playing with a Viva Decor Pearl Pen. I coated the entire stork with the pearl pen. IRL the stork is so shiny...I wish you could see it! I then inked the baby bundle, bill and legs and adhered them to the card. I embellished it with some ribbon, tulle, twine and buttons. I then completed it by adding a SRM sticker as the sentiment!
So now who has babies on the brain?!

Hello Spring (LYB STYLE)
Hi all! Thanks for stopping by today! Hasn't this been a gorgeous spring?! I think so except for all the allergy troubles I have had. But thankfully I have avoided a sinus infection so far, so that is always good in my book!!!
Speaking of spring, I was very blessed to have been selected to join Little Yellow Bicycle as one of their Hello Spring Cycling Team Members!!! They sent me this collection to create with and today I am going to share some of my creations with you. I absolutely fell in love with the bright, cheerful colors and patterns. And the variety of embellishments that go with their collections are amazing! I had a hard time picking which ones to use!!! If you are interested in more detail images or info about the layouts please stop by their blog HERE. And if you are like me and LOVE this collection, just stop by their blog and check out any post from the past few weeks. Bo Bunny May Challenge
Bo Bunny has switched to having 2 challenges each month. One layout and one card challenge. If you want to play along all you have to do is create a project per the challenge and link it on the Bo Bunny blog.
I played along with the layout challenge using a fabulous sketch by Kristine Davidson of Creative Scrappers. I used the new Serenity collection on my layout. I love the colors in this collection and they went perfect with these photos of my beautiful sister putting forth her best "Martha Stewart" at our family Christmas party. She was quite proud of it, and it was really yummy!!!

Mother's Day Rose Gift Box
Mother's Day is right around the corner and I am sure all you crafty types are looking for something to make for Mom. Because of course we have to make something...that is what we do! LOL!!!
I recently created a gift and coordinating gift box for my Mom using the Bo Bunny Ambrosia collection and some Cricut Cartridges (Giant flowers, Flower Shoppe and Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2). You can download the project cut files below if you want re-create this project to use with either your Gypsy or the Cricut Craft Room.
Here is the gift box! The flower I made is about 5 inches across. The Giant Flowers Cart is meant to be make flowers that are much larger (10 inches and larger), but with a little patience, I was able to make one smaller!
I created the ring using a ring base that I bought at Hobby Lobby and the flower is actually a button! I used Super Glue to attach the button and the bling to the ring base.
These are the cut files if you are interested and already have these Cartridges!
