2. Hero Arts Patina Effect Kit

Everyone is going to have a new favorite technique with this Patina Effect Kit from Hero Arts. This kit includes a small plastic jar of brass embossing powder and a turquoise Hero Hues pigment ink cube. These two products will create magic when used on your projects. To use, first apply the turquoise pigment ink to your paper. Then sprinkle the brass embossing powder onto the inked area, leaving some areas without powder if desired. Tap the excess powder off. Aim a heat tool 3 to 4 inches away from the design for 10 to 30 seconds to watch the powder magically melt and turn metallic.

Every mixed media artist needs a permanent ink when working with a variety of mediums and this Ranger Ink Tim Holtz Distress Archival Ink 4 Pack is just what they need. These inks are acid free, archival, permanent, waterproof, and fade resistant. This ink can be used on multiple surfaces and can be heat set on all surfaces. This ink can be cleaned with Archival Ink Cleaner and the pads can be re-inked with the archival re-inkers (both products sold separately). These are standard sized ink pads and the colors included are Black Soot, Ground Espresso, Hickory Smoke, and Vintage Photo.

I use this ink on just about every project I make. On these cards, I used it to stamp the images so I could water color them. You can check out all the details on my Christmas Card Head Start 2021 Watercolor Stamped Background blog post.

Sizzix Effectz Luster Wax is perfect for adding shimmer and shine to your projects. It is made with beeswax and infused with orange oil for smooth application and finish. Luster wax has so many uses and is perfect for adding a touch of shine to your projects. It comes in three beautiful colors: Gold, Silver and Rose Gold.

On this card I've used the Gold Luster Wax to add interest to the edges of a die cut. You can see more details on my Christmas Card Head Start 2021 | Stencils & Die Cuts blog post.

Tim Holtz and Ranger Ink have designed yet another embossing powder and you are going to love this Distress Frosted Crystal Embossing Powder. This powder is designed to create a matte frosted texture on cardstock and other surfaces.  It can also be used as an embossing foundation and then proceeding to color your image with Distress Crayons, Inks, or Oxides. You're sure to love the effects of this powder and it will soon become a favorite go-to for your embossing needs.

I've used the Crackle Paste on this Butterfly Specimen Canvas to create a wonderful distressed effect around the edges of the canvas.

9. Scrapbook.com Storage Bin With Lid

I love using these Scrapbook.com Storage Bins to organize my mixed media products. I use them to store my Distress Ink Sprays, Pops Of Color, Paint and all my other favorite mediums. Each bin is 8 3/4" long x 6" wide x 4 3/4" tall with the lid on. They are made from a sturdy white plastic and are stackable with or without the lid. In fact, I often use the lid like a tray to corral embellishments and other small pieces when working on projects. These truly have endless storage and organization possibilities for all of your mixed media needs! Fill it with other items from this Top Gifts for Mixed Media Artists, add a bow and you have your Christmas wrapping done!

Artists are going to love the Once Big Art Pouch that is part of the Art Basics Collection by Prima. The pouch measures 13" x 10" x 1.5" and would be perfect for holding all kinds of mixed media tools such as brushes, markers, pens, palette knives, scissors and such much more. Fill it with some gifts for an even more festive and thoughtful gift!

If you love working and creating with ink, markers, glue, paint, gesso or any other medium, then the Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat crafting space is just what you need! You can use the glass portion of the mat to create an easy motion of movement on your surface to blend your ink or other mediums. On the white palette area, you can use a wet paintbrush or water brush and pick up your chosen color. Water-based mediums will never dry on the surface. When you’re done creating, simply remove the craft mat and wash it off, it’s that easy! Another great option is this is also sold as a left handed option.

This mat stays on my crafting table and there is not a project I make where this is not used! It's definitely one of my must have craft tools!

The Gansai Tambi Starry Colors Watercolor paints are infused with mica particles, producing a beautiful pearlescent shine, perfect for illustrations and calligraphy.
