Hello Card - Pressed Flowers 2 Stamp Set

The first set is called Pressed Flowers 2 and it was designed to coordinate perfectly with the previously released Pressed Flowers 1. To make these stamp sets even more amazing, you can now purchase coordinating dies for each set. Now you have unlimited creative options when combining these two stamp and die sets!

The sunflower image in Pressed Flowers 2 set immediately caught my attention, so I chose to create a cluster of them as the focal point on my card. I stamped and die cut each layer and then used double sided foam adhesive to give added dimension to some of the layers. The entire piece was adhered to a die cut square I cut out using the Gina K Designs Double Stitched Square Die Set. The final touch was to adhered this layer onto a piece of embossed white cardstock which provides even more texture and interest to the design.

Wonderful Life Card - Framescapes Tropical Skies

I've never had the opportunity to create with a silhouette style stamp like the new Framescapes Tropical Skies and I must say I loved it! There are seriously endless possibilities for combining the images in this set to create a one of kind tropical scene. I also loved playing around with my Distress Ink to create the sunset background.

Creating a Sunset Background with Distress Ink

To create the sunset background, I began with a piece of watercolor paper. I then cut and trimmed a circle to the size of the sun in the sunset image and used it as a mask on the watercolor paper. Next I took the following Distress Ink colors and blended them to create the sunset: Salty Ocean, Seedless Preserves and Spun Sugar. As you can see, I applied more pink toward the area around the sun. Once I was pleased with the look, I removed the mask and blended some Squeezed Lemonade into the area of the sun. I then went over that lightly with a little more Spun Sugar. The final touch was to blend some Black Soot around the outside edge of the paper. After the background was complete, I used my MISTI to stamp the frame and other images. For the sun, I only applied ink to the reflection part of the stamp image.
