Bella Blvd Newsletter & Me

Bella Blvd's February Newsletter is now available! Have you checked it out yet? I am happy to share that I have two layouts in the newsletter and that I am being featured as one of their Bella's Of The Ball! Make sure you check it out HERE!!!

For my first layout I used the Birthday Girl collection. I was so very happy, excited and surprised on my birthday this year thanks to my husband throwing me a small surprise birthday party! I think those feeling came across as I scrapped this layout with the fun sunburst background and title work!

The presents were fussy cut from the Cute Cuts paper and mounted to chipboard for stability. The top two presents were then attached to the layout with double sided foam tape for more dimension!

One fun detail...all the stitching is fake! What's a girl to do when she doesn't have green thread?!  To create the "faux" stitching I used a paper piercer to poke holes around the edge. I then connected the dots using a green marker.  I repeated the same technique for the white thread using a white gel pen.

My second layout features the Kiss Me collection with a twist! I used it to scrapbook about something I love to eat... Mexican food!!! In this layout I was making stuffed Poblanos! Here is a link to the recipe for Stuffed Poblano Peppers by Linsday at The Cottage Home. They are seriously yummy!!!
To create the layout, I cut the large pink heart shape using my Silhouette Cameo. I then layered it onto the blue patterned paper and trimmed around it with scissor to create the scallop shape. Once this was completed, I used a hole punch in each of the scallops to give it a more lacey feeling.

I used this pink tag for hidden journaling so that I could include the recipe on my layout.

Thank you so much for your visit and your comments!!!

  2. Beautiful Layout! Love your designs.

Totally off topic question - I was going through some older Circle posts on the blog and came across your flower bouquet using Flower Shoppe. For the life of me, I can not figure out how you made that rose. I've looked at your youtube channel and you have two videos on how to make 2 flowers, but not the roses (heart4 & fun4). I know it's an old post, but would you be willing to post on this blog or your youtube channel how you made the roses? I've did further searching on youtube and can not find a tutorial there on how to make them like that too.

You are the queen of flowers, I love the spring wreath you did as well and watched the tutorial on that, very well done!
