Bo Bunny Blog Hop

Hello! Welcome to the Bo Bunny blog hop! I can not believe that May is almost here and that is is already time for another hop! Seriously...where did April go?
This month you are going to love our guest designer and I am especially excited because of who it is!!! I met this gal a couple years ago at CHA and we really hit it off. She was one of those people who you meet and feel like you have known your whole life! I just wished we lived closer so that it would be easier to get together! You are sure to be inspired by her work this month as she shares it with us on the Bo Bunny blog!!!
Here is a recent project I created for Bo Bunny! And yes, that butterfly is made from felt! I just added the paper and embellishments to give it a little more pizazz!

I created the flower using Double Dot Cardstock and used the flower image on the patterned paper as my inspiration. I cut the leaves from the paper and the swirls are stickers from the 12x12 sticker sheet.

OK! Back to the hop...your next stop is Rita's blog....HERE!
Remember you are hopping for a chance to win a fabulous Mama-Razzi prize pack!

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Hopping

GCD goodness

Hi all! Today, I wanted to share with you a few of my favorite projects from the GCD Studios blog. I have been blown away by the creativity of the GCD Studios design team and how each of us has taken the same inspiration piece and made it our own. I have also really enjoyed the fabulous tutorials that have been shared. I personally am always on the lookout for fun new techniques, so that is why these projects caught my eye! Make sure you stop by and check these and all the other projects that have been posted! You are sure to find something to inspire you!

First, is this fabulous tissue paper flower created by Kris. You can see how she created it and the gorgeous butterfly banner she used it on HERE!
Next is this adorable little treat back by Lori! I just love the fun handmade paper flower she made! I have had a "thing" lately for making my own flowers so you can now see why I have picked these first two!!!! You can see how Lori created her gorgeous flower on this little treat bag HERE!
And finally...I thought this was such a clever and unique way to dress up all those buttons we all have/hoard! You can see how Teri created these fun paper rimmed buttons HERE!

I hope you saw something inspiring as you stopped by today! As always, I appreciate your visit and I love to hear from you! I hope you all have a great weekend!!!

I love spring!

Spring has sprung!!! This is definitely one of my most favorite times of year! I just love to see all the flowers starting to bloom, the trees covered in blossoms and green, green everywhere! All these springtime flowers inspired me to create my own indoor flower using the Sophie collection by Bo Bunny!

Supplies:
Bo Bunny Sophie Cut Outs
Bo Bunny Double Dot Kiwi Dot and Ocean Dot
Bo Bunny Ribbon Aquamarine
Bo Bunny 12 x 12 Sophie Chipboard

Cut out the flower shape from the Sophie Cut Outs. Distress the edges.
Back with the Ocean Dot Cardstock and cut around the edges.
Attach the circle chipboard shape to the flower center and finish off with a gem.
To create the flower stem, cover the dowel rod with 1/2 inch strips of Kiwi Dot cardstock by wrapping it around the dowel and adhering it as you go.
Affix the dowel to the back of the flower. Cut the leaves out of the Kiwi Dot cardstock and attach them to the stem.
Place the finished flower into the flower pot.
(I hot glued it into place, but flower foam would probably be much easier!!!)
Add spanish moss or Easter basket filler to the top of the pot.
Finish it off by adding a little bow to the front.
Well, there you have it, a cut little sign of spring for you to keep in your home! And better yet...it requires no watering! LOL!!!!

Finally I wanted to share with you a LO I recently created for Bo Bunny (again using the Sophie collection!). Our challenge was to use the 12 x 12 chipboard on our project. I incorporated the flower spray and butterfly and added a little Stickles to give them some added bling! The new 12 x 12 chipboard is definitely my favorite new Bo Bunny product from their 2010 Winter release.

This is a close up of the bling!
I gave the letter stickers added dimension by popping them up with double sided foam tape! This is most definitely one of my go-to products!
I hope all of you are enjoying spring or that it is at least getting closer to spring for you!!!
(Unless of course you live on the other side of the equator...then you have a ways to go yet!)
Thanks for stopping by!

Today is a good day!!!

Why you ask? Because, today I am posting my first project created as a DT member for GCD Studios!!! I have been having a blast working with and creating with their products. Sneak Peak No More!

I know I teased a large number of you last week during the Bo Bunny blog hop! I am sorry! Really I am!!! Well I can now tell you that the teasing is officially over! Here is the LO I created using the fabulous Jazmyne line...
We were challenged to use an ad to create a LO. I ended up using the cover page from an article in a magazine. The colors (purple!), the circle shapes and the flowers caught my eye and really inspired me to create this LO! I flipped the placement of the circles and use the chipboard flowers in place of the hyacinths! Thanks for stopping by and make sure you stop by the Bo Bunny blog to see how the other designers used ad's to inspire them! Who knows, you might just find the inspiration you been looking for for your next LO!

Fun with Chipboard and the Chip Art Tool

Today I wanted to share with you some of the products I have had played around with while using the GCD Studios Chipboard and Chip Art Tool. Melody Ross has shared some amazing ideas with us using paint and a fun distressed look. You can see a great little video HERE. I love this look, but struggle to use it with my style. I decided to go on an adventure of my own and see what other looks I could come up with!

I will be sharing one of the many combination's I discovered with you on the GCD Studios blog and on my blog as well on April 16th. So stay tuned!!!

Here are some of the products I have tried so far...
  • Water-based Dye Ink
  • Acrylic Paint
  • Silver/Gold Leafing Pens by Krylon
  • Stickles by Ranger (any glitter product would work!)
  • Glimmer Mist
  • Shimmerz ...Paintz or Spritz (actually any of their products work well!)
  • Folk Art Antiquing Medium (If you like the distressed look that Melody has shared, but don't want to have to mix up your own paint and Mod Podge I have the answer for you. Folk Art Antiquing Medium! It gives it an awesome aged look with out the work! (Call me lazy if you want to, but I love this less messy option!))
I have found that by mixing and matching these various products you can get a wide array of looks. You just have to let go and free yourself up to making a mess! I promise, you will have fun and come up with something super cool and crafty during the process!
