Valentine's Day Treat Bags with Stenciled Ombre Background

For my project, I created a set of Valentine's Day Treat Bags using the new Tumbling Hearts Stencil and Sending Hugs Stamp/Die Set.

I began by taping the stencil over a treat bag die cut from white cardstock.

I then used Distress Oxide Ink to create an ombre effect on the bag.  I also masked off the side because I only wanted the inked design to show on the front of the bag. To achieve the ombre effect, begin by applying the ink at the bottom of your paper and work your way up with the blending.

After I had stenciled all of the bags, I assembled them and began to embellish them using some fun stamps and dies from Newton's Nook.  To start, I die cut a heart from vellum using the stitched heart die from the Darling Hearts Die Set.

I then stamped and colored several of the cute critters from the Sending Hugs Stamp Set using my Chameleon Markers.

Next, I die cut the critters using the coordinating Sending Hugs Die Set. I absolutely love that this set cuts out their hands so you can fill them a variety of fun accessories. Since I was going with a Valentine's Day theme, I choose the heart die.

I stamped the sentiment using stamps from the Sending Hugs Stamp Set. I stamped it onto a white cardstock banner that was cut using one of flags from the Frames and Flags Die Set.

After filling each Treat Bag with some chocolates, I closed them with a wooden clothespin embellished with a little red bow.
