Clipboard Mini Album | Tim Holtz Sizzix March 2025

The Vault has been opened once again and Tim Holtz is back with a new Sizzix Vault release! I used the new Vault Noteworthy along with some Idea-ology bits and piece to create this Clipboard Mini Album.

Clipboard Mini Album by Juliana Michaels featuring Tim Holtz Sizzix Vault Noteworthy

The first thing I thought of when I saw the clipboard die was a mini album or tag album of some sort. Initially I was going to create a swatch book with it, but since I already have a lot of my inks and such swatched, I decided to go in a slightly different direction and create a swatch book using some of my Idea-ology stash! The 2024 Idea-ology release came in a rainbow of colors and while I had collected all the things, I had yet to use them. So I gathered them and sort them by color and started creating my little mini album.

I began by die cutting the clipboard using Kraftstock and Silver Metallic Craftstock. I inked the edges of the Kraftstock clipboard with Walnut Stain Distress Ink. I then sanded the metallic clip piece to give it a distressed effect and then inked it with the same Walnut Stain Distress Ink. I then assembled each of the clipboards.

Next, I used the paper die to cut out sections from the Large Collage Strips. I then embossed them using the embossing folder from the Vault Side-Order Floristry. I rubbed over the embossed design with some Sizzix Gold Luster Wax for a little interest. I  then inked the edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

Once that was completed it was just a matter of going through my stash and selecting ephemera pieces in the coordinating color to create a small collage on the paper.

If you look closely I also used some of the rainbow colored stamp stickers from the Postmarked Sticker Book.

For the focal point on each clipboard I selected either a flower or butterfly and adhered that with some double sided foam adhesive for a bit of dimension.

I then finished off each one with a Clippings Sticker.

Lastly, I added all of the clipboards to a book ring and finished that off with a bit of seam binding and some Idea-olgy charms and a skeleton key.

I hope you enjoyed learning how this Clipboard Mini Album featuring the Tim Holtz Vault Noteworthy came together.

THANK YOU SHAKER TAG DIE SET

I used the Thank You Shaker Tag Die Set to create a set of shaker tags filled with sequins in a rainbow of colors!

I die cut each shaker tag from a mix of patterned papers from the Tim Holtz Backdrops Volume 5. As you can see I created one for each color of the rainbow!

I also die cut several of the small butterflies from the die set to put inside the shaker.

I then assembled the shaker and filled it with a mix of coordinating sequins and the die cut butterflies.

To embellish each tag, I added a die cut butterfly cut from black cardstock using the Scrapbook.com Butterflies 1 Die Set.

I adhered the butterfly die cuts using black double sided foam adhesive.

To finish each one off, I added a motivational sticker from the Tim Holtz Metallic Sticker Book.

Lastly I added the tags to a book ring and dressed it up with a bit of Tim Holtz Mummy Cloth and Idea-ology Charms and Keys.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed learning a bit more about how this mini album came together!

Happy Tails Misc Me Album for Milo

As some of you may know, we adopted a Golden Retriever named Milo back in October 2013. It was love a FURST site and he has become the joy of our lives. When BoBunny released their Happy Tails collection in January 2014, I was thrilled to get their Happy Tails Misc Me collection to create with. I immediately knew that I wanted to use it to capture the story of Milo and what he means to us.

As you can see, Milo loves his Happy Tails Misc Me Album!

To decorate the front cover of the 8 x 9 Misc Me Kraft Binder, I covered the spine with strips of the Happy Tails Stripes patterned paper. I then added a border sticker from the Happy Tails Combo Sticker and some Washi Tape. Next, I added the Golden Retriever die cut from the Happy Tails Noteworthy. How perfect is that to decorate this album for our Golden?! Another fun touch...I used my label maker to add his name to the front cover and also to another spot in the album. Can you find where?

Next, I added the die cut hearts and paw prints. I cut these using my Paw Prints FREE digital cut file, which I originally created to use when I decorated Milo's bowls with adhesive vinyl from SRM Stickers. Feel free to check out Milo's Paw Print Dog Bowls for more ways to use the file!

The inside of the album begins with one of the first photos we took of Milo during his very first visit. This was his "trial" visit. We kept him over a weekend to see if he would be a good fit for us. It took us about 2 seconds to fall in love with him! We knew we were ready to open our hearts and our home to him!

These are just a few of the pages I have created so far, and these only record that first weekend with Milo.  I used a combination of products from the BoBunny Happy tails collection including the Misc Me Dog Journaling Cards, Noteworthy Die Cuts, Patterned Paper and Stickers.

You and Me Mini Album

The BoBunny Head Over Heels Mini Album is so fresh and funky and was the perfect thing for me to use to make a gift of love for my husband. Every year, I try to make him something for Valentine's Day as a way to show him how much I love him...not just today, but every day of the year. I am sharing with you here some of the inside pages and close ups of the extra little things I added to the already fabulous embellishments that make up the Head Over Heels collection. If you are interested in seeing the front of my You and Me Mini Album and the other pages, then make sure you visit the BoBunny blog.

I repeated a couple of techniques throughout my album to help it flow from one page to the next. One of those techniques was the use of a black pen to hand draw lines and other little doodles on the edges of the papers and die cuts. The Head Over Heels collections has a hand drawn or doodled look to it, so this helped reinforce that style.

The other technique I used was to apply glitter glue to some of the chipboard and sticker accents that I used throughout the album. I applied it in various places on these pieces to help highlight the various heart shapes on each page.

Document December BoBunny Misc Me - The Inside

This time of year can be full of fun activities and traditions that help create memories to last a lifetime.  I can think of no better way to record those precious memories than with a BoBunny Elf Magic Misc Me album. I first shared my Document December Misc Me album a few weeks back. (Click on the words "Document December Misc Me album" to see them.) At that time, I shared the cover and how I pre-planned and organized the pages to have them prepared for when I was ready to add my photos and journaling. I wanted to work ahead to make things easier for me during the busy Christmas holiday season. Today, I'm sharing some of my finished pages from my Document December album, along with a few tips and techniques I used to decorate my pages.  If you are interested in seeing close up images of each individual page, please visit the BoBunny blog.

Document December Santa Pages by Juliana Michaels #bobunny #documentdecember #miscme

My first four pages are about my Santa collection. I love Santa. In fact...I call him Santie for fun and I love to collect unique Santa figurines. My collection is a combination of Santa's that are from my childhood, some given to me by my Mom or other family/friends and others are ones I have collected myself over the years.

To decorate my pages, I used bits and pieces of the Elf Magic collection that featured Santa images and words.

Fussy Cut Tuck Technqiue

One tip is to use a craft knife and trim or fussy cut around the edge of the image on one of the Elf Magic Content cards.

Fussy Cut Tuck Technqiue

Then I was able to tuck my photo behind the image and have Santa and the sentiment show on top of the photo. This adds an element of layering without adding more bulk to the page.

Fussy Cut Technqiue

This next tip uses one of the Elf Magic Noteworthy die cuts and a pair of scissors.

I used my scissors to trim the Santa from the frame.

By cutting him away from the frame, I was able to have more control over where I placed the Santa on my page. Now he looks like he is hugging all the other Santie's!

Pen and Metal Edged Ruler Technique

You might have noticed some of the pen work around the edges of my pages and inserts. I used a black pen and a metal edged ruler to draw the lines. I placed the ruler where ever I wanted a line and then ran the pen along the metal edge to achieve the straight lines. Of course, if you prefer a more hand drawn and doodled look, you could draw the lines without the ruler.

Here, I used the craft knife fussy cut and photo tuck technique again.

I created this decorative element using a cardstock sticker and some banners from the Noteworthy pack.

These next four pages are about our Christmas tree and our tradition of getting at least one new Christmas ornament each year.

This year we got two...a glass vintage looking Santa and a German style Nativity.

Are you documenting your December? What method or style or products are you using? I'd love to see your take on this fun project and I can't wait to finish my album.
