Father's Day Card | Distress Ink Watercoloring

Hello and Happy Thursday Friends! As I mentioned earlier in the week, when I shared My Dad Is Awesome Scrapbook Page, I created a handmade Father's Day card for my Dad and after finishing it, I thought it would be nice to share it with you today.

Yes, I'm into the watercolored look! I admit it and I love it! It's such a fun easy way to add a touch of color to just about any project. To create this card front, I stamped the funky circles from the MFT Stamps Whimsical Wishes stamps set with Ranger Archival Ink in black on a piece of watercolor paper cut to 4.25 " x 5.5". The Ranger Archival Ink is waterproof and is perfect for using with watercoloring because it won't bleed.

To create my watercolors, I took my Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass and stamped it onto my craft mat. I then took a paint brush and added water to the ink, swirled it around and added more water as needed to have enough to fill my brush with paint. I then painted casual strokes on the stamped images. Once this color was dry, I repeated the same process with the Distress Ink in Denim. This is such a great way to get the watercolor look using something I already own. You gotta love products with multiple uses!

Once the watercolor was dry, I stamped the word Dad using the MFT Stamps LLD Cooper Alphabet stamp set. I then stamped the Laugh, Love, Smile stamp from Elle's Studio Sycamore Lane stamp set and the little heart from the MFT Stamps Whimsical Wishes stamp set. To complete the card, I added some jute and tied it in a small bow. This is such a quick and easy card to make, but the effort came from the heart and I know my Dad will treasure it forever! Happy "early" Father's Day to all the Dad's out there and thank you for stopping by today!

  4. Saraford, since you are a no reply account you may or may not see my reply. The stamp set you are asking about is from 2015, so it's long since retired and no longer available. Maybe try doing an image search on Google for something similar? I only ask that you don't purchase anything similar to this from Temu. They are stealing art from these small companies and causing some of them to go out of business or let go of their employees.

  5. Thank you for your response and information. I did try a image search with no luck. But I ABSOLUTELY agree with you about Temu. I have never ordered from them and would only assume the product is less than subpar.
