How To Paint A Wood Frame Tutorial

Valentine's Day is right around the corner and I have been busy creating a few projects to decorate my home. One of these projects is a collage type wooden frame that I painted and embellished using the Yours Truly collection by Pebbles Inc. It started out as a plain wooden frame and as I was creating it, I thought it would be nice to share a simple tutorial with you on how to paint a wood frame.

Here are a few peeks of my "Love Birds Frame", which is up on the Pebbles Inc. blog today. I'd love for you to head over there to check it out and let me know what you think of it! Keep reading below for my tutorial on how to paint a wood frame.

Begin with your wood frame. Use wood putty to fill any gaps. Let dry and sand away the excess.

Prime the wood frame with gesso. Paint the top edges of the frame with black acrylic paint and let it dry.

Save paint by only painting the edges that will show.

 Paint the corners first.

Then paint along the bottom edge.

Finish by painting in the middle.

Repeat on all four sides of each of the openings.

Here is the finished paint job. You can see that I did not paint the inside of the openings. I decided it would help save me time and paint!

Now head on over to the Pebbles Inc. blog to see how I filled the frame using their Yours Truly collection!
