Newton's Nook | Happy Birthday Card

Hello crafty friends! Today I'm sharing a card I created for the Inky Paws Challenge No. 42. This is the challenge blog for Newton's Nook Designs and twice a month they post a new challenge for you to play along with. By playing along, you can win a $10 gift certificate to their online store.

This week's challenge is a Birthday theme and the recent Newton Loves Cake stamp set was calling my name. They have several other adorable stamp sets with a birthday theme that would also be perfect to use when creating your card. These include: Newton's Birthday Bash, Pug Hugs, and Beautiful Wings - just to name a few!

I created a shaker box using the layered die cut paper technique.  For this technique, all you have to do is die cut 5-6 of the same shape and glue them together to create the box. Make sure to rub a powder tool around the edges before adding your sequins and fillers to prevent them from sticking to any glue that might have squeezed out from in between the layers when you adhered them together.

I sure hope you find some time to play along with us for the current Inky Paws Challenge! You have until March 17 to play along. I can't wait see what you create and share with us!
