Poinsettia Perfection: Holiday Card Ideas with 49 & Market Sizzix Christmas Stamps & Dies

Today I’m sharing a card that’s bursting with holiday cheer, featuring some of the brand-new 49 & Market Christmas stamps and dies from Sizzix. I’m a total sucker for a poinsettia, so the Poinsettia Trio Stamp & Die Set had me at “hello.”

This set includes three different sizes of poinsettia blooms you can use solo or layer up for extra drama. With both outline and solid layering images, the mix-and-match possibilities are endless. And just when you think it couldn’t get better—there’s also a sweet pinecone and a perfectly festive pine branch to help you build your own winter floral arrangement.

Warm Hugs Christmas Card by Juliana Michaels featuring 49 & Market Sizzix Poinsettia Trio and Special Delivery Stamp and Die Sets

WARM HUGS CHRISTMAS CARD

For my card, I stamped the poinsettia outlines in Archival Ink Red Geranium and layered them with Distress Oxide Lumberjack Plaid for that rich, cozy holiday red. I used the two largest flowers, die cut them, and popped them up with 1mm foam adhesive for dimension. The centers got their golden glow from Archival Ink Fossilized Amber (outline) and Distress Oxide Scattered Straw (solid), also with a bit of foam adhesive to make them shine.

The pinecones came to life with Ground Espresso and Gathered Twigs, while the pine branches got a mix of Rustic Wilderness and Peeled Paint for that fresh-from-the-forest variety.

For the background, I grabbed some patterned paper from the Vicki Boutin Mistletoe & Memories collection, trimmed it to size, and added subtle stamping with the Special Delivery Stamp Set in Versafine Clair Sand Dune for a soft, tone-on-tone effect. I inked the edges with Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide, distressed them with a Ranger Sanding Disc for a bit of rustic charm, then layered it over another coordinating paper from the same pack.

To finish things off, I added a sentiment from the Special Delivery Stamp Set, die cut with one of the included dies—because no festive card is complete without a merry message!

I hope this little burst of holiday inspiration gets you excited to try out the new 49 & Market Christmas stamps and dies from Sizzix. They’re perfect for adding that handmade magic to your holiday season!

Thank You Card | Sizzix 49 & Market

The new 49 and Market stamps and dies designed by Katie Pertiet for Sizzix are now available and I have had a wonderful time creating with them. I was immediately drawn to the Fine Stems stamps and dies and couldn't wait to use them.

Thank You Card by Juliana Michaels featuring the Fine Stems and Painterly Palette Stamps and Dies 49 & Market for Sizzix

THANK YOU CARD

I began by stamping some of the Fine Stems along the right hand and bottom edge of a piece of white cardstock using Distress Oxide Ink. I stamped the image and the restamped it using the leftover ink to get a second image that was slightly lighter. This is often referred to as Second Generation Stamping. The colors I used are: Dusty Concord, Peeled Paint, Bundled Sage and Weathered Wood.

Next I took 5 pieces of white cardstock and ink blended each piece with one of the Distress Oxide colors that I used for the stamping.  I then used the Fine Stems die set to cut out several of the stems from the various pieces of inked paper.

For the sentiment strip, I stamped the Painted Palettes image onto white cardstock. I then applied a different color of ink to each pallette and stamped it, being careful to wipe off any excess ink. I repeated this for each color. I then took one of the sentiments from the set and stamped it in one of the blocks. To finish it off, I cut the strip and inked the edges with Scorched Timber Distress Oxide Ink.

Before I began adhering the die cuts and stamped image, I ink the edges of the background paper with Scorched Timber Distress Oxide Ink. I then layered this onto a piece of white cardstock.

To finish off the card, I adhered the die cuts and then layered the sentiment strip using some double sided foam adhesive for some dimension.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed seeing how this Thank You Card came together using the Fine Stems and Painterly Palette Stamps and Dies 49 & Market for Sizzix.

Love You More Tags | 49 & Market anSizzix

FYI, Valentine's don't have to be pink and red! I was going to go that direction when I came up with this set of love you more tags, but then decided my husband might like them better if I switch up the color scheme. So...that's exactly what I did!

This set of tags can be put together as a twist on a Valentine's Day card, used in a journal or however you want. They came together using some of the new 49 and Market stamps and dies designed by Katie Pertiet for Sizzix. Let me walk you through it below.

Love You More Valentine's Day Tags by Juliana Michaels featuring Fine Stems, Fine Line Alpha, Build A Burst and Journal Essentials Stamps and Dies by 49 & Market for Sizzix

LOVE YOU MORE TAGS

I began by die cutting 3 large and 2 small tags from white cardstock using the Journal Essentials Die Set. I then stamped the tags using images from the Build-a-Burst - Painterly Stamp and Die Set. I stamped each design using Distress Oxide Ink in the following colors: Abandoned Coral, Scattered Straw, Broken China, Peeled Paint and Chipped Sapphire.

Next I ink blended 5 pieces of white cardstock. I applied the same colors of Distress Oxide Inks with one color to each piece of paper. I then die cut each color with a different die from the Fine Stems 2 Die Set.

The words on each tag are stamped using the Fine Line Alpha 01 Stamp and Die Set. I used Versafine Clair Fallen Leaves on white cardstock and then die cut them with the coordinating dies.

Once all the pieces where completed, I went through the Birdsong Ephemera Bits and selected some coordinating pieces to layer with the words, die cut stems and tags. I inked the edges of everything with Ground Espresso Distress Oxide Ink before I adhered them to the tag.

The final touch was the addition of hand dyed seam binding and jute twine. I die the seam binding by spritzing the seam binding with water and then smooshing the Broken China Distress Oxide Ink Pad onto it. I continued scrunching the seam binding and used my heat tool to dry it. I then added it to the tags.

I hope you enjoyed seeing how this set of Love You More Valentine's tags came together!

One Card Idea Turns Into Four | 49 and Market Charcoal Color Swatch

Hello there! I'm back with another video on the 49 and Market YouTube channel. In the video I share how I created a sympathy card using the gorgeous Charcoal Color Swatch Collection. That one card inspired me to create three more using the same formula. I ended up with a sympathy card, a wedding or anniversary card, a graduation card and a thank you card.
