All the new September products will be available for purchase on Friday, September 14th at Newton’s Nook Designs online store and other craft retailers!

Thankful For You Card | Thankful Thoughts Stamp Set

This first card features the gorgeous new Thankful Thoughts Stamp Set. This set has the right thank you sentiment for just about any occasion! I paired it with the new Tree Rings Stencil and Autumn Leaves Dies.

Thankful For You Card by Juliana Michaels featuring Newton's Nook Designs Thankful Thoughts Stamp Set, Tree Rings Stencil and Autumn Leaves Die Set

To get started, I ink blended the Tree Rings Stencil onto a piece of Strathmore 300 Series Bristol Paper. I used Distress Oxide in Vintage photo for the inside rings and then Espresso for the outside ring. I then splattered some black into on the panel. Once it was dry, I stamped the sentiment using Versafine Pigment Ink in Tuxedo Black.

To embellish the card, I used the Autumn Leaves Die Set to cut a bunch of leaves and acorns from Bristol Paper. I ink blended them using Distress Oxide Ink in Espresso, Vintage Photo, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Peeled Paint and Fired Brick. I removed the veins from the leaves and added more ink to these pieces to add some contrast. I then layered everything and used 3D foam adhesive to add a bit of dimension to some of the pieces in the cluster.

Coffee Card | Slothy Coffee Stamp Set

This second card features the Slothy Coffee Stamp Set. As a lover of coffee, I couldn't resist playing with this adorable set! I stamped the image, colored it in using Copic Markers and then die cut it using the coordinating die set.

The background behind the sloth is a piece of Bristol Paper that I ink blended with Antique Linen Distress Oxide. I then stamped the cute little coffee beans from the Newton Loves Coffee Stamp Set in brown ink. The turquoise frame was die cut using the Framework Die Set and the sentiment is stamped onto a banner from the Frames & Flags Die Set. For a touch of added interest, I embossed the white cardstock panel with a small dot embossing folder and added a strip of patterned paper to the left hand side.

Newton's Nook Designs September Release | Day 3

Hello friends and welcome to Day 3 of the Newton's Nook Designs September Release. Today we're revealing an adorable new set that is perfect for all of your Autumn Greetings called Happy Tails!

All the new September products will be available for purchase on Friday, September 14th at Newton’s Nook Designs online store and other craft retailers!

Autumn Greeting Card | Happy Tails Stamp Set

Anyone who knows me, knows I pretty much love all things pumpkin. So of course, I couldn't resist the adorable deer pulling the wagon of pumpkins! I stamped the image with Memento Ink onto Neenah Classic Crest 110 lb smooth solar white paper and then colored in the image using Copic Markers. I added a few details with a white gel pen and then die cut the images using the coordinating dies.

For the background, I used the new Pumpkin Patch Stencil and inked up a piece of Strathmore 300 Series Bristol Paper with Distress Oxide in Mowed Lawn. This paper has become my new favorite for ink blending because the ink goes on so smoothly! I always tap off the excess ink before I begin adding ink to avoid any harsh lines and I applied most of the ink to the area that would be behind the stamped image. After the ink blending was completed, I die cut it using the scallop edged frame from the Frames & Flags Die Set.

To complete the card, I stamped the sentiment onto a banner from the same die set. I then wrapped a bit of jute twine around the side of the card. Finally, I layered everything onto a kraft cardstock base.

Piles of Pumpkins Card | Newton's Pumpkin Patch

All the coloring on these Full Card Front stamp set can be a bit intimidating, even for me. Maybe one I of these days, I'll get brave enough to color one in using my Copic Markers! But until then, I'm going to stick with using my Zig Markers and a water brush. To do this, simply stamp the image onto watercolor paper using Versafine Black Pigment Ink and then heat emboss it with clear embossing powder. Next, add a bit of color to the shape and then spread the color across the image using a water brush or paintbrush dipped in water.

Once the coloring was complete, I trimmed the image down a bit. I then die cut a piece of black cardstock using the postage edge die from the Framework Die Set. I then layered this piece onto another piece of black cardstock. For the sentiment I die cut a banner using the Frames and Flags Die Set. Then, I stamped the sentiment in Versamark Embossing Ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. To complete the card, I added a little pumpkin from the Newton's Thanksgiving Stamp Set that we revealed yesterday.

Newton's Nook Designs August Release | Halloween Trio, Candy Corn & Boo Hoo

Hello friends! It's Day 4 of Newton's Nook Designs August Release Blog Hop! Don't forget, ALL of the new products will be available in the Newton's Nook Designs Store tomorrow August 17!

Boo Halloween Card | Halloween Trio Stamp Set

Today we have not one, but three, Halloween themed stamp sets to share with you today! First up, I'm sharing a Halloween scene I created using the Halloween Trio Stamp Set. I began by stamping and coloring the image and then die cutting it with the coordinating die set.
To create the background, I stenciled a piece of white cardstock with the flying bats stencil and Distress Oxide Ink in Black Soot. To give the background more color, I ink blended the panel with Distress Oxide Ink in Blueprint Sketch, Black Soot and Wilted Violet. I tapped off a lot of the excess ink to give just a light coverage of color. I then placed the stencil back on top and re-inked the bats to make them stand out again.

For the clouds, I used the cloud die from the Sky Borders Die Set. I used Distress Oxide Ink in Blueprint Sketch, Black Soot and Wilted Violet again but applied the ink a bit darker for more color.
The grass is die cut from the grass die that's part of the Land Borders Die Set and it's ink blended with Distress Oxide in Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron.

After all the pieces were created, I layered them onto the stenciled background panel and trimmed off any excess paper. I then used a circle die to create a full moon and inked it up with Distress Oxide in Antique Linen. For the final touch, I die cut a couple bats from black cardstock using the coordinating die for the Halloween Trio.

Halloween Card | Boo Hoo Stamp Set

For my second card, I have a rather "clean and simple for me" card using the Boo Hoo Stamp Set. To create the background, I stamped the images onto a piece of 4.25 x 5.5 inch black cardstock using white pigment ink and let it dry. I then took the large postage edge die from the Framework Die Set and die cut the background panel.

While I was stamping the background piece, I also stamped some extra images onto black cardstock and let them dry as well. Once they were dry I die cut them using the coordinating dies. Using the smaller postage edge dies from the Framework Die Set I cut a piece of green and purple cardstock. I adhered the die cut images to the frames and then added them to the card front.

Halloween Card | Candy Corn Stamp Set

For the third and final card today, I used the Candy Corn Stamp Set. To create the background, I randomly stamped the images with embossing ink onto a piece of watercolor paper and heat embossed them with white embossing powder. I then watercolored the images using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and blended out the colors with a water brush.

The yellow polka banner was created using the large flag die from the Frames & Flags Die Set. I finished off the card by stamping the sentiment in orange ink. I then stamped over it again with embossing ink using my MISTI to help and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.
