Elle's Studio April Kit and Scrapbook Page

Noteworthy Scrapbook Page by Juliana Michaels using Elle's Studio April 2014 Kit
It's that time of the month again! Time for Elle's Studio April Kit and Inspiration Gallery Reveal! Every month, on the 10th of the month, Elle's releases an exclusive die cut and tags kit as well as other coordinating products such as digital cutting files, wood veneer and stamps!

For this scrapbook page, I used a combination of the die cuts, tags, wood veneer, stamps and digital cutting file! I guess, I used a little bit of everything! The "noteworthy" pocket shape from the digital cut file caught my eye and I decided to enlarge it and create a background/frame for this darling photo of my nieces. This photo is truly noteworthy, in that it is nearly impossible to get a good photo of the two of them together. Even though they certainly love each other, I always struggle to capture those moments with my camera!

I added some machine stitching to the edge of the pocket to give it a more realistic look and to add some textural interest. Then I layered on the die cuts and wood veneer. Finally I stamped a visual triangle with a few sentiments from the stamp set.

Happy Tails Misc Me Album for Milo

As some of you may know, we adopted a Golden Retriever named Milo back in October 2013. It was love a FURST site and he has become the joy of our lives. When BoBunny released their Happy Tails collection in January 2014, I was thrilled to get their Happy Tails Misc Me collection to create with. I immediately knew that I wanted to use it to capture the story of Milo and what he means to us.

As you can see, Milo loves his Happy Tails Misc Me Album!

To decorate the front cover of the 8 x 9 Misc Me Kraft Binder, I covered the spine with strips of the Happy Tails Stripes patterned paper. I then added a border sticker from the Happy Tails Combo Sticker and some Washi Tape. Next, I added the Golden Retriever die cut from the Happy Tails Noteworthy. How perfect is that to decorate this album for our Golden?! Another fun touch...I used my label maker to add his name to the front cover and also to another spot in the album. Can you find where?

Next, I added the die cut hearts and paw prints. I cut these using my Paw Prints FREE digital cut file, which I originally created to use when I decorated Milo's bowls with adhesive vinyl from SRM Stickers. Feel free to check out Milo's Paw Print Dog Bowls for more ways to use the file!

The inside of the album begins with one of the first photos we took of Milo during his very first visit. This was his "trial" visit. We kept him over a weekend to see if he would be a good fit for us. It took us about 2 seconds to fall in love with him! We knew we were ready to open our hearts and our home to him!

These are just a few of the pages I have created so far, and these only record that first weekend with Milo.  I used a combination of products from the BoBunny Happy tails collection including the Misc Me Dog Journaling Cards, Noteworthy Die Cuts, Patterned Paper and Stickers.

Throwback Thursday on Friday - Easter Baskets

Easter Baskets from scrapbook paper by Juliana Michaels

Happy Friday everyone! I have to admit, I love the whole idea of Throwback Thursday! It's so fun to go back into the past and look at those old photos. For me, it has inspired me to look back at my old scrapbook pages and projects here on my blog. I have enjoyed looking at those pages and project and all the memories they bring back to me. With that in mind, I thought it would be fun to do a Throwback Thursday every now and then on my blog. I may even go back and find some old ones from before my blogging days!

Unfortunately, my blogging schedule didn't quite work for me to post this particular project on a Thursday, and I wanted to share it before it got to be too close to Easter. I hope you don't mind that I'm doing it today! What I have for you is a set of Easter Baskets that I made in 2012! Some of you may remember this project, but it might be new to some of you.

I created this when I was a member of the Cricut Circle Design Team using their Teresa Collins Exclusive Easter Basket images. The great thing about this project is that any die cut basket image will work, and their are tons of great ones out their to choose from depending on which electronic die cutting machine you have. The fun part is decorating them, filling them with candy and then giving them to your loved ones! I remember how much my nieces loved receiving them for Easter that year! I will have a couple of new Easter baskets to share with you soon. One of them uses Pebbles Inc's Garden Party collection and the other uses SRM Stickers Clear Boxes and Stickers, so stay tuned!

If you are interested in seeing more detailed photo on the baskets, you can find it here: Easter Baskets. Unfortunately, the links to the Cricut Circle blog no longer work, but you can at least see the other detailed images that I shared on my blog. Hopefully they will inspire you to create your own Easter Baskets for your family and friends!

Using Scraps To Make A Card

Create The Life Card by Juliana Michaels made using scraps from the 3 Birds Studio Graceful Season collection available on HSN.com

I love my paper scraps, and I usually have a difficult time parting with them. Recently I shared a Thank You card using papers and scraps from the 3 Birds Studio Graceful Season collection. When I was making that card, I decorated it with some die cut patterned paper hearts. The negative scrap that was left over from die cutting the hearts made it's way into my scrap drawer. It was just too cool to throw away! I recently pulled out that scrap and decided to use it to decorate a new card. For this Create The Life card, I trimmed the negative scrap piece to the size I wanted and then backed it with a slightly larger piece of patterned paper to create a border. As you can see, I did my best to create a design similar to how I decorated the front of my It's A Beautiful Life Notebook.  For more details on this notebook and how I used my scraps on it, you can visit the 3 Birds Studio Blog!

Mini Easter Basket

Mini Easter Basket by Juliana Michaels using SRM Stickers and Clear Containers

I don't know about you, but I really enjoy creating holiday inspired crafts. Recently, I was trying to come up with an idea for an Easter themed project when the idea of using an SRM Stickers clear rectangle box to make a mini Easter basket popped into my mind. I knew some SRM stickers and Twinery twine would be perfect to decorate it with too! And even better, I was pleased to find out that a decorated Easter egg fits perfectly inside the box. Whether you fill it with a decorated Easter egg or your favorite Easter candy, it is sure to put a smile on someone's face when they receive this little gift!
