Inspired By Challenge | Hello Card

Hello friends! I'm very excited to be joining my friend, Laurel, in taking part in her Inspired By Challenge. Each week there is a new challenge image to inspire you. This week’s challenge is to make something inspired by this picture and the challenge is called "Inspired by... Cheesecake Anyone?".

I do love me some cheesecake...especially Cheesecake Factory's Red Velvet Cheesecake! YUM!

For my card, I was inspired by the colors and circle shapes of the plates. I pulled out the new Jillibean Soup collection called Bohemian Brew and some circle dies in various sizes. After cutting out circles in different sizes and colors, I began layering them until they somewhat matched the way the plates and cheesecake are laid out in the photo. For the pop of red from the berries, I die cut a couple of hearts and popped them up with double sided foam adhesive.

Keep reading to learn about the Coffee Shaker Card I created to share with you today and for your chance to win a fabulous prize package from Jillibean Soup!

The card I'm sharing with you today is a fun Coffee Shaker Card I created using the new Jillibean Soup Latte Stamp and Die set and coordinating Coffee Cup Shape Shaker. These are seriously the easiest shaker cards to make! There is no foam, no layering and no die cutting to worry about. All you have to do is fill the shaker, place it in the opening on the card and stick it down.

To decorate my card, I began by stamping a bunch of the little flowers from the Latte stamp set onto colored cardstock with Versamark Watermark Embossing Ink and heat set them with clear embossing powder. I then die cut them using the coordinating die that comes with the stamps.

Using double sided foam tape, I adhered the flowers to the card front to give them a little dimension.

I did slightly modified the card by cutting off the front panel. I trimmed it down using a stitched rectangle die and then layered some patterned paper from the new Jillibean Soup Bowl of Dreams collection behind it. The sentiment is stamped and heat embossed with white embossing powder onto a Kraft Jewelry Tag.

Check out all the bling inside the shaker...that is one of the new Watercolor Shaker Fillers, a beautiful combo of jewels and sequins, along with some of their Blue Sequins. Seriously the new Jewels and Sequins are just gorgeous!!!

Wood Plank Christmas Nativity Decoration

This easy to make Wood Plank Christmas Nativity Decoration is perfect to use for decorating your own home or giving as a gift!

Lately, I've been getting more into the farmhouse decor trend and this year some of my Christmas decorations and craft projects are taking on this style. With Christmas coming soon, I've been crafting up a storm creating gifts for my family and friends. One of the projects I recently created for some of my crafty friends is this Wood Plank Christmas Nativity Decoration.

Wood Plank Christmas Nativity Decoration Supplies:

Wood Plank 6x6 - Jillibean Soup Mix the Media

Galvanized Nativity Ornament - JoAnn's

Garland - Michaels

Red Berries - Michaels

Gingham Ribbon

Wire Cutters

Hot Glue Gun

If you are unable to locate the Nativity ornament I used, feel free to substitute it with any Christmas themed die cut shape made from metal or wood. You could paint the wood with metallic paint. Another option would be to use a die cut or an electronic cutting machine, such as a Silhouette Cameo, to cut out a Nativity from chipboard or paper.

Begin by making a wreath from the garland, using wire cutters to cut it. Size it so the Galvanized Nativity Ornament, or whatever piece you use, fits on top of it and touches the wreath in 2-3 places. Use a hot glue gun to attach the ornament to the wreath.

Cut a length of ribbon, tie it in a bow and hot glue it to the top of the ornament.

Use wire cutters to cut the berry stems in half. Take three of them, twist the ends together and add a dab of hot glue close toward the berries to help hold them together. Try to keep the stems short. Create five groups of berries.

Adhere the berries to the wreath using hot glue. Once the wreath is complete, hot glue it to the wood plank.

I really love how this gift turned out and so did my friends.

The wood plank and galvanized metal really add to the farmhouse style of it.

Of course, after I made them for my friends, I couldn't resist, but to make one for myself as well.

Jillibean Soup + CardMaker Blog Hop | Shape Shaker Card Tutorial

Hello everyone and welcome! Today I'm sharing two festive Christmas shaker cards. I created these cards for the CardMaker and Jillibean Soup Blog Hop using the new Holiday Shape Shakers by Jillibean Soup! You'll find all the blog hop details below. First, let me share a bit about these fun products.

If you aren't familiar with Jillibean Soup Shape Shakers, let me tell you a little bit about them. They are a super quick and easy way to make the popular shaker cards you are seeing all over the place these days. Most methods for making a shaker card can get a little confusing and time consuming. Jillibean Soup has taken all that stress away and turned them into a fun and easy project that anyone can create!

Jillibean Soup Holiday Shape Shaker Card Ornament by Juliana Michaels

Begin by selecting one of their die-cut card bases. They have several shapes that include a small circle, a large circle, a square, a jar, a cloud and a star. Each of these cards has an opening already cut into them. The cards also come with envelopes and they are sized to large enough to fit the shakers. For this card, I used the Small Circle Card Base.

Next, select some stamps to decorate your card. On this card, I used the new Ornament Stamp Set which is made to work perfectly with Small Circle Card Base. I stamped the ornament using red ink and did some gold heat embossing when I stamped the hanger and sentiment.

Next, select the coordinating Shape Shaker. For this card, I used the Small Circle Shape Shaker. This is a plastic shape that has adhesive around the outside edge and it will become the shaker part of the card.

Now the fun begins! Fill the shaker with sequins, small beads, die cuts or even a stamped image. Designer Tip: Before you fill the shaker, rub it with a dryer sheet or cotton ball soaked with rubbing alcohol. This will help decrease the static when you add the sequins.

Open the card all the way. Place the filled shaker into the opening on the card.

Remove the adhesive backing, and carefully lift up the card and filled shaker.

Carefully close the card by bringing the back side of the card toward the side with the filled shaker. Rub your fingers around the plastic shaker to adhere it the the card.

Turn your card over and enjoy your festive holiday shaker card!

There are so many fun ways to create and play with the Jillibean Shape Shakers. Here is another shaker card I created using their Jar Card Base, Jar Shape Shaker, and Jar Die Set.

Instead of stamping on the card front, I used the Jar from the Jar Die Set to die cut a piece of patterned paper to fit the opening of the Jar Shape Shaker. To help me determine where to position the die, I used the card as a template.

The stamps on this card are from the Snow Globe stamp set. I stamped the sentiment and image on the inside of the card. I then filled the shaker with sequins and adhered it to the card. For the final touch, I added a little jute bow.

Hashtag Love Digital Cut File | Happy National Scrapbook Day 2016

Happy InterNational Scrapbook Day everyone! There are so many great NSD activities going on today and this weekend. I sure hope you've found something fun to do today as we celebrate this day that is so special to us scrappers. To add to your fun, I am sharing a new digital cut file called Hashtag Love. It contains 12 cut files including some fun words, titles and shapes.

I used the Hashtag Love cut file to create a layout about Lincoln and how much he loves to snuggle - especially when you are on the couch. He continues to snuggle even now at nearly 75 pounds.

To create a fun accent piece on my layout, I cut out the XO heart and I used the same technique to back the design as I shared on my This Is All That Matters layout using the Butterfly Frenzy cut file that I created for Creative Scrappers.

I also included the fun little heart and XO strips as little accents as well and added a bit of machine stitching to give it some added interest.

The overall design is a standard color block pattern. I love this type of design and how it lets you use a variety of patterned papers on one page. On this layout I used 7 different patterns and from 4 different Jillibean Soup collections - Mushroom Medley, Sew Sweet, Fur Fusion and Soup Staples II. You gotta love using your stash! I also used one of the new Wood Words and Adhesive Sequins.

Pie Chart Digital Cut File and Scrapbook Sketch

I don't know about you all, but I think there is something absolutely wonderful about using cut files and sketches when it comes to scrapbooking. They can both quickly help pull a layout together. The fact that they can both be so helpful got me to thinking. What if I were to create, combine and share both of them with you along with a layout for even more inspiration? I decided it would be a fabulous idea, so that is exactly what I'm doing today. Below you will find a layout, a digital cut file and a sketch to help you as you create your next scrapbook page.

I created my Favorite Spot layout using the new Jillibean Soup Mushroom Medley collection, Lines Tags and Alpha Tiles. You can see a full list of the supplies I used below. I selected a variety of the patterned papers and then used the Pie Chart Cut File to create the design.

I cut the pie chart shape from white cardstock and then backed each of the sections with my selected patterned paper.
