Welcome to Day 4 of Newton's Nook Designs September Release! Today we finish off our reveal week with a Halloween stamp set featuring the ever adorable Newton called Newton's Costume Party.
This set is one of my new favorites! Beside being Halloween themed, I love that you can "dress" Newton up in a variety of costumes. When I colored and die cut all of the images, I felt like I was playing with paper dolls!
Newton needed some friends to go trick or treating with, so stamped the cat image several times and colored it a variety of different colors. I then picked some of my favorite Halloween costumes from the stamp set and went to town dressing each one up. Once I had picked out each cat's costume, I adhered the layers together to create the little scene.
The night sky behind them was created using the Newton's Nook Designs Sky Borders cloud die. I die cut several borders and then inked them up with Distress Oxide in Black Soot, Wilted Violet and Peacock Feather. I then splattered it with some water and dabbed that dry. The final touch was to splatter it with a bit of white acrylic paint, just slightly watered down to make it easier to splatter.
For the grass, I used the Newton's Nook Designs Land Borders grass die and lightly ink blended it with Distress Oxide in Peeled Paint.
