I know it's not the 4th of July yet, but as soon as I saw the Americana collection by Pebbles I knew that it would be perfect to scrapbook some photos from last year when we went to visit my BIL and his family in Florida. While we were there we celebrated the 4th with them. This photo is my great niece with my DH and she was all dolled up and ready for some 4th of July fun!
I did a lot of fussy cutting (Pebbles Americana Liberty) to create the flower clusters, but I like how they add a feminine touch to page. The background shape was done on a whim. It was originally a 9x10 piece of paper that I was going to use behind the photo, but it felt so boring, so I cut it into these random geometric shapes. Next, I added some machine stitching to the edges to give it a quilted feel. The funny thing is that after I took the photo and posted it on my blog, I thought it looked kind of like a firework exploding. What do you think?
