Chevron Paper Folding

Today I want to share a layout I made before Christmas using some of my favorite paper collection from My Mind's Eye - The Sweetest Thing!  I have loved every bit of this collection!!! Silly me thought there would be no way they could come up with another collection that I would love this much. However, I am  pretty sure their new Collectable collection will do!!! I can't wait for it to be available in the stores!!!

For now, I will continue to play with this collection.  I used the Bluebell line for this layout. Later this week I will share another layout with you using the Tangerine line.

I had fun playing with sewing, paper folding and trim. I even used a piece of vellum which you can't see real well in the photos.  The cool zigzag/chevron piece was created following a paper folding tutorial by Julia Stainton which you can see HERE.  It is really easy to do and I love how it adds a more dimensional piece to the layout as compared to just cutting the paper.

I also used some fun sequin trim and ribbon that I found recently at Hobby Lobby.  To create the ribbon border I folded the ribbon at random intervals and then stitched across it with my sewing machine. I then used glue dots to adhere the buttons.  However I am thinking that sewing them on would have been kind of cool too.  I love this photo of Danny and I wanted to capture the peacefulness of the image and the moment as well as the love I have for him.

  1. Gorgeous Juliana, MME certainly have some amazing papers, and you have done this once justice plus. Adore the sequin trim, how you did the banner, and the yellow paper with buttons down the side - amazing!

  4. So many great details on this page, Juliana! I love the mix of the sequins with the chevron and the pleated trim with the buttons!! And I really like the soft effect, that the vellum creates over your patterned paper. And I agree, can't wait for the new MME to hit the stores!
