Newton's Nook Designs Holiday Release | Day 3

Hello friends and welcome to Day 3 of Newton's Nook Designs Holiday Release! Today we're showcasing 2 new stamp and die sets. One is perfect for all the coloring enthusiasts and the other is perfect for those who love shaker cards!

Merry Christmas Stockings Card | Holiday Stockings Stamp Set

The first card I'm sharing today was created using the new Holiday Stockings Stamp Set. I colored each stocking with Copic Markers and die cut them with the coordinating die set. I then personalized them by adding a name to each stocking...one for each of us...including our sweet Bubba's! On a side note, the stocking die that coordinates with this new stamp set also coordinates with a stamp set released last year called Stylish Stockings.

To complete the card, I stamped a sentiment from the stamp set onto a white cardstock banner die cut using the Frames & Flags Die Set. Before adhering it to the card, I wrapped a bit of red jute around the end of it.

Holiday Cheer Shaker Card | Ornamental Wishes Stamp Set and Ornament Shaker Die Set

This next stamp and die set are perfect for the shaker card lover! However, don't think that that is the only way to use this set. Make sure to check out how the other designers use this set and show you just how versatile it can be! I personally love creating shaker cards, so that is was I created to share with you today.

I began taking the solid ornament die from the Ornament Shaker Die Set and cut a piece of white cardstock with it. Using the Ornament Wishes Stamp Set, I stamped a sentiment in the center. This piece will be the back side of the shaker. I then took a piece of Double Sided Adhesive Foam and die cut it using the ornament frame die. I peeled off the adhesive liner and adhered this on top of the sentiment/back piece. To fill the shaker, I used one of the confetti dies that cuts out "Ho Ho Ho" and mixed in some sequins from my stash. Next, I die cut an Acetate Sheet using the solid ornament die and adhered this to the top of the double sided adhesive foam. To complete the shaker box, I die cut another ornament frame from red cardstock and adhered that on top of the acetate.

To further embellish the ornament, I die cut a topper from gold foil. For the final touch, I added some holly using the holly leaves and berries dies from the Pines & Holly Die Set. I hung the shaker using a bit of gold cording and wrapped it over the top of a piece of green patterned paper that I cut out using the stitched rectangle die from the Frames & Flags Die Set.

For the background, I took a piece of Bristol Paper and the Holiday Foliage Stencil. I inked each cut out section with Distress Oxide Ink using a finger tip sponge dauber to help apply the ink into the small sections. I then finished it off by inking the edges of the stenciled piece before applying to the card base.

  13. Love your traditional color combination on your stockings card - and how you added NAMES to the cuffs to personalize it - LOVE that! Kind of embarrassed the thought never even occurred to me to do that (blushing). Your stencil work is really beautiful too - I have yet to master applying different colors to separate parts of the same stencil, really adds so much to a card! Thank you so much for the beautiful holiday inspiration!
