Father's Day Card | Distress Ink Watercoloring

Hello and Happy Thursday Friends! As I mentioned earlier in the week, when I shared My Dad Is Awesome Scrapbook Page, I created a handmade Father's Day card for my Dad and after finishing it, I thought it would be nice to share it with you today.

Yes, I'm into the watercolored look! I admit it and I love it! It's such a fun easy way to add a touch of color to just about any project. To create this card front, I stamped the funky circles from the MFT Stamps Whimsical Wishes stamps set with Ranger Archival Ink in black on a piece of watercolor paper cut to 4.25 " x 5.5". The Ranger Archival Ink is waterproof and is perfect for using with watercoloring because it won't bleed.

To create my watercolors, I took my Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass and stamped it onto my craft mat. I then took a paint brush and added water to the ink, swirled it around and added more water as needed to have enough to fill my brush with paint. I then painted casual strokes on the stamped images. Once this color was dry, I repeated the same process with the Distress Ink in Denim. This is such a great way to get the watercolor look using something I already own. You gotta love products with multiple uses!

Once the watercolor was dry, I stamped the word Dad using the MFT Stamps LLD Cooper Alphabet stamp set. I then stamped the Laugh, Love, Smile stamp from Elle's Studio Sycamore Lane stamp set and the little heart from the MFT Stamps Whimsical Wishes stamp set. To complete the card, I added some jute and tied it in a small bow. This is such a quick and easy card to make, but the effort came from the heart and I know my Dad will treasure it forever! Happy "early" Father's Day to all the Dad's out there and thank you for stopping by today!

My Dad Is Awesome | Scrapbook Page

With Father's Day coming up next weekend, I thought I would share a recent layout that I created of me and my Dad. Last year I went and spent an entire week with my Dad...just me and him. It was a great week and one that I will always treasure. One day while out riding around on the polaris, I decided to pull out my phone and snap a selfie of the two us.  I'm so glad I did, because this ended up being one of my favorite photos from the trip!

I used the Pebbles Inc Happy Day collection. Because I used a black and white photo, I choose to limit my color palette to mostly neutrals. I added pops of color with the strips of blue patterned paper and the green stars. I positioned the larger green stars and the "selfie" sticker around the photo to help draw your attention to the photo.

Although I won't be able to see my Dad for Father's Day this year, he will most certainly be receiving a handmade card from me to let him know just how much I love him! Thanks for stopping by today!

Watercolor Card | Pretty Pink Posh Watercolor Blog Hop

Happy Monday friends! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! I spent the weekend with my sweet friend Tracey crafting and creating - making three scrapbook pages and three cards. I felt quite accomplished finishing so many projects in such a short period of time! I also had a blast getting inky and playing around with watercoloring. I was inspired to try watercoloring with my stamps after seeing some gorgeous cards by Kimberly Crawford.

I ended up loving what I made so I decided to it up to the Pretty Pink Posh's Watercolor Blog Hop. I'm planning to put together a little tutorial for the technique that I used and to share it here on my blog very soon!

Pretty Pink Posh's Watercolor Blog Hop

I used the MFT Stamps Modern Blooms stamp set for the flowers and the LJD Whimsical Wishes for the sentiment.

I then die cut the sentiment and the watercolored panel using the MFT Stamps Blueprints 24 die.

To finish it off, I added some gold thread and sequins!

Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop + Downloadable Cut File

Welcome and thanks for stopping by today. I'm so happy to be playing along with the Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop! I hope you are enjoying something yummy and delicious as you hop along.

Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

The Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop started today Friday, June 5th and will run through Friday, June 12th. The theme for this hop is summer and this inspired me to move away from the traditional brown of coffee and create a fun shaker box card using white and teal. For more details about the hop, see the bottom of this post.

To make this sequin filled shaker box card, I created a digital cut file that you can download below to use and create your own coffee cup shaker box card!

FREE DIGITAL CUT FILE | COFFEE CUP SHAKER CARD

The Coffee Cup Shaker Box Card Digital Cut File contains everything you need to cut your very own shaker box card. The images are sized to create a card that is 4.5" tall.  The downloadable file includes the card base, the shaker box frame, and the piece to cut the acetate. I have also included a coffee cup image that you can cut and layer as you please. You can also use it to create a fun coffee cup shaped card if you aren't into the shaker box cards.

As you can see, I kept it pretty simple and went with a white cardstock base. I added accents of color with teal cardstock and used coordinating sequins for bit of shimmer inside the shaker box. The sentiment that I used is from the MFT Stamps LLD Perk Up stamp set. I stamped it with Versamark ink, added white embossing powder and then heat set it.

Instead of using the circle shapes that come with this cut file, I used a new die that I recently got from MFT Stamps - their Die-namics Cross Stitch Circle Stax. I just love this new die and HAD to find a way to use it!

I used double sided foam tape to attach some of the layers. This really adds some wonderful depth and dimension to the card.

And of course no shaker card is complete without some yummy sequins!

Scrapping Our Stash May Blog Hop Giveaway Winner

Hello everyone! I have a quick post to announce the winner of my Scrapping Our Stash May Blog Hop Giveaway. The winner of my Mystery Prize Package is Susie Bentz!!! Congratulations Susie!!! Please message me on Facebook to claim your prize.

To be eligible to win my giveaway, I asked everyone to share how they like to use washi tape.  I loved all the great ideas that everyone shared. Some of my faves included using it to hold dies in place or placing it onto cardstock and then cutting out shapes with punches!

Thanks A Latte Shaker Box Card | MFT Stamps

Right now, I'm so in love with creating shaker box cards and today I'm sharing a new one that I just created using a new stamp set I just got! I have been wanting the LLD Perk Up Stamp Set and I finally got it about a week ago as a birthday present to myself. I love all things coffee, so this set is right up my alley!

I was inspired by the current MFT Stamps Sketch Challenge. Love the sketch and the projects shared by the DT are so amazing!

I had a great time creating my own patterned paper by repeatedly and somewhat randomly stamping the cute coffee cup from the stamp set.

I also had fun playing with some foil paper from my stash. I love the little bit of bling it adds to the card and I thought it helped repeat the bling from the sequins that are inside the shaker box.

The contents of the shaker box includes a variety of star and heart shaped sequins. I also added some star die cuts that I cut out using the MFT Die-Namics Blueprint 24.

3 Things I Love About Us | BoBunny Sweet Life

Happy Monday friends! Today I'm sharing a new layout I recently created. This layout came together through a combination of inspiration including the photo I used and a journaling challenge to create a numbered list of things. Unfortunately, I can't remember where I saw the journaling challenge.

Us Scrapbook Page by Juliana Michaels featuring BoBunny Sweet Life Collection and MFT Stamps Dies

The photo of me and Danny made me think about "Us" and that led me to think about journaling three things that I love about us. I used some number die cuts from my stash to accent each thing and I then printed the journaling onto white cardstock.

To add some interest to the design, I used a couple of dies to cut out a bunch of circles from various patterns from the BoBunny Sweet Life 6x6 paper pad. By placing them in a mostly grid like pattern, it created a punch of color and interest behind my photo. I then added a few more off to the side to help balance the overall design.

I mostly used the BoBunny Sweet Life collection to create my layout however, it's always fun to mix and match collections. When I purchased the BoBunny Sweet Life papers, I also liked the Post Card paper from the Garden Journal collection and it was perfect for fussy cutting, inking and layering behind my photo. I then added a fun cluster of embellishments by combining chipboard, stickers and die cuts. Along with mixing and matching collections from BoBunny, I also added some other fun embellishments from my stash that coordinated with the Sweet Life collection.
