Hello Spring Scrapbook Page

I don't know about you, but I can't wait for spring and warmer weather to arrive! Here on the North Coast, things are still quite cold...at least for this Southeast Missouri native! I'm longing for 70 degrees!!! To help me stay warm and get in the mood for spring, I have been spending time indoors and creating scrapbook pages with the Garden Party collection from Pebbles. I recently created this Hello Spring scrapbook page using some 3.5 x 5" photos that I took of the plants and trees in full bloom last year in our backyard.

Something fun that I haven't done in a while is to journal directly on a photo. To do this, I used an American Crafts Slick Writer in black. It writes so smooth! I'm pretty sure that I've found my new favorite journal pen for slick surfaces!

I used a combination of the Garden Party Thickers and Garden Party Cardstock Stickers. Aren't those pink glitter letters fabulous?!

As an added embellishment to the page, I took the Butterfly on Garden Sprig chipboard piece from Leaky Shed Studio and painted it with acrylic paint. I painted the butterfly pink and the sprig green. Once dry, I added pink glitter to the butterfly. The flowers are asterisks from the Garden Party Thickers. This was maybe not there intended purpose, but they worked perfectly if you ask me!

2 Page Layout And A Sketch

If you know me, you know I don't do two page layouts very often. In fact, the last time I did one was nearly a year ago when I did one for Creative Scrappers Creating with Sketches Volume 2. Well, I'm back this year with with a two page layout and a sketch by me for you to enjoy! I used Jillibean Soup's Cold Avocado Soup collection. This is one of my all time favorites, but then I tend to fall in love with all of their collections!

SCRAPBOOK SKETCH | 2 PAGE LAYOUT

The thing I like about this sketch is that it could easily be used for two single page layouts by using just one side of the sketch or the other. If you wanted to use the left hand side, you could use the area that is for journaling to easily hold both your title and journaling. The same can be said if you wanted to only use the right hand side. You could simply add your journaling below the title.

I had fun adding some texture to the page by using a stencil and modeling paste.

Instead of the stars, I used some polaroid frames that are part of the die cuts that go with the Cold Avocado Soup collection. I then added in some chipboard frame from Dusty Attic that I colored with a Krylon Gold Leafing Pen.

Washi Tape Decorative Storage Box

Washi Tape Decorative Storage Box by Juliana Michaels using BoBunny Washi Tape #bobunny #washitape
Hi everyone! I'm up on the BoBunny blog today. I'm sharing this fun decorative storage box that I altered, using BoBunny's new Washi Tape and their Blossoms and Petals.

This is what the box looked like before I altered it. I found the box in the clearance aisle at Hobby Lobby quite some time ago and it has been sitting and patiently waiting for a makeover. I hope you'll click on over to the BoBunny Blog and check out all the details!

Also, if you are looking for a little more spring project inspiration, visit the Pebbles Inc Blog. I have a set of Garden Party Gift Bags that I am sharing over there.

Spring Always Comes Scrapbook Page

Spring Always Comes Scrapbook Page by Juliana Michaels using Pebbles Garden Party Collection
Happy Spring everyone! Even though spring has officially arrived, it's still cold here and it's hard to feel like spring has arrived. To help me get in the mood, I created this spring filled scrapbook page to share with you. It showcases a couple of photos from my yard last spring. Just looking at it, gets me excited about warmer weather and my garden in full bloom.

INSPIRATION | CREATIVE SCRAPPERS SKETCH 263

It has been a long time since I've had the time to play along with one of the sketches from Creative Scrappers. I have always been inspired by Kristine Davidson's sketches and her amazing Design Team. I recently created a scrapbook page using Creative Scrappers Sketch 263 as my inspiration.

Instead of using a 6x12 photo, as indicated in the sketch, I filled the space with two 3.5 x 5" photos and my title, which is a die cut from the Pebbles Garden Party Cardstock Die Cut pack.

To fill the right hand side of the page, I cut images from the Pebbles Garden Party Poppy paper. I then inked the edges and stitched around them with my sewing machine, before adhering them to the background paper. I love the quilted, hand made feel they add to the page. Next, I selected various coordinating stickers and embellishments to decorate the squares.

I really love how some of the die cuts and stickers are the same size as the images on the paper. I simply adhered them directly on top of the image using a piece of double sided foam tape for bit of added dimension and texture.

Birthday Cards and Elle's Studio

Everyone needs a set of homemade birthday cards on hand, don't you think?! Lately, I have been trying my best to make several with the same theme when I sit down to create. This way, I have several to choose from and I always have a small stash available when I need one.

The set of birthday cards, was created using the Elle's Studio Birthday Celebration Set. You can get this set FREE with any $5 purchase from the Elle's Studio Shop.  It contains three journaling cards and a wood veneer shape. I used one piece on each of the cards I created and then added to it using other Elle's Studio patterned papers and woods veneers.
