Using Die Cut Papers On Scrapbook Pages

Sometimes it's just fun to play with your stash! With my various design team commitments, it can be difficult for me to find time to do this. Over the past several months, I have been getting together with a friend, who lives close to me, to scrapbook. We try to meet about once a month and I have been trying to make that a day of scrapping non-design team things. A day to play with my stash and just have fun!!!

The scrapbook page I am sharing with you today, using die cut papers and products from the Pink Paislee Hey Kid and My Mind'e Eye Cut and Paste collection, is one of the pages I created during one of the "just for fun" scrapbook days.

I started with the Hey Kid Red Rover Die Cut Paper. I loved the paper, but I wanted to do something different with it, so I fussy cut around the center grouped circles and trimmed off the top and bottom border strips. Next, I cut some of the designs from inside some of the circles using a craft knife. Next, I positioned my "new" die cut piece and the border strips onto a piece of patterned paper from the My Mind'e Eye Cut and Paste collection. I then filled some of the new circle openings with pieces from the Hey Kid Ephemera pack.

It is a subtle change really, but I had fun "playing" with paper because of the fussy cutting and layering. The final steps to completing the layout were to add my photo, embellishments, title and journaling.

  4. Gorgeous page Juliana...and so super you were diving into your stash! This is a super design for using scrappy bits! So cool that you have a scrappy friend that you can meet up with and just play.....I think we all need that now and then...! It's always nice to create for design teams, but also nice to freely create...! ;-)
