Bo Bunny ClearSnap Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the

Bo Bunny ClearSnap Blog Hop!!!

You may have arrived here from the ClearSnap Blog, but if you didn't, make sure you stop back by there and check them out. We are having a blog hop beginning today and ending on April 27 featuring Bo Bunny and ClearSnap products.  This is a short hop, but it is full of loads of inspiration and amazing prizes!!! For your chance to win a fabulous Bo Bunny prize package, make sure to leave a comment at the bottom of this post!!!

This is a list of the other stops along the way:
Juliana Michaels - you are here

Here is the layout I created using Bo Bunny Mama-Razzi2 and one of their new mid season releases called Trail Mix, along with some awesome products from ClearSnap. The photo I selected is of my step mom taking photos of a pair of eagles. During a visit this past January to see my Dad, we went to Fort Donelson hoping to maybe see some eagles. We got really lucky and were able to see a mated pair...and they were only about 200 yards away! My step mom is an avid wildlife photographer (she especially loves birds) and was in heaven when she saw how close we were able to get to them. She probably took a 1,000 photos or more!!! I don't have the camera or the lens that she has, so I wasn't able to get any close up photos, but I was able to capture this photo of her doing the thing she loves! You can only imagine how excited I was when I saw that awesome eagle die cut in the Trail Mix Noteworthy pack. I immediately knew this was the perfect photo to use it with!!!

As for the ClearSnap products, I used their awesome Glue Gloss to add Winter Frost Glitter to the Chipboard pieces and the Eagle from the Noteworthy pack. This glue comes in a tube that reminds me of lip gloss!!! It is so cute and cool all in one!!! It is a simple way to add liquid adhesive and you don't have to worry about too much coming out because of the type of applicator.

Another element I was using the Bo Bunny Mama-Razzi2 filmstrip stamp. I stamped it using the ClearSnapTop Boss Embossing Ink Pad and then heat embossed it with Top Boss Black Embossing Powder. I then trimmed along the side of each strip, inked the edges and then tore off the top and bottom edge to give them more of a tape like look.

I also applied some Stephanie Barnard Spray Ink in Banana and Chocolate to the layout. I removed the applicator from the bottle making sure some ink was dripping along it and then I blew the excess ink onto my layout. The larger drops of ink were achieved by letting the ink drip off the applicator.  Spray inks always scare me a little because they land where they want, but I still had fun playing with them!!!

Mama-Razzi2 and Woody

Happy Monday! I hope you are off to a good start this week! I just did a little blog hopping and I am so inspired to go to my craft room and do a little creating. Before I do that though, I thought I would share another Bo Bunny layout that I created a while back using the Mama-Razzi2.  This collection is so versatile, it was even perfect for some photos of Danny working with our horse Woody. He was doing some round pen work which is a way to help warm up the horse before you ride him, but it is also a way to help train him to listen better. Yes, Danny is using a whip (called a stick and string), but it is not used to hit the horse. It is the sound and movement of the whip that is used to get the horse to change directions and listen to what you want him to do. He is using a type of training called Ground Work made famous by Clinton Anderson. You horse lovers out there might know what I am talking about! As for the rest of you, I will return to scrappy talk! LOL!!!

I had a little fun playing with Ranger Rock Candy Crackle Paint on the background. I applied it to the paper as an adhesive to hold the tiny star confetti in place that I created using a punch. It also made a wonderful little crackle pattern that I just love!

I also added lots of layers and machine stitching to the banners and large circle that I fussy cut from the patterned paper.

See the star border on the left hand side? I used the negative pieces from that for the confetti on the  rest of the layout!

Supplies:
Patterned Paper, Trinkets, Stickers, 12 x 12 Chipboard: Bo Bunny Mama-Razzi2
Punch: EK Success Starry Night
Paint: Ranger Clear Rock Candy Crackle Paint

Thanks so very much for stopping by to see me today!!! I love your comments and visits and I especially enjoy visiting your blog as well!!!

Elle's Studio Tabs | A Little Java and Me

Happy Friday! I hope you have had a good week! I have been busy working in the yard, getting all my flowers bed ready. Spring flower bed cleaning I call it. We have more flowers bed here at our new house than grass to mow. My husband loves this!!! We have always had the deal that he did the grass and I did the flowers. Well...that may have to change. There are a LOT of flower beds here! LOL!!!

In between the work, I found time to make another layout just for fun. I was inspired to created it for a challenge I saw on the Elle's Studio Blog to create a layout using one of their tabs as a photo mat. I didn't get it done in time to play along, but I still thought I would share my finished design.  I used a combination of Elle's Studio, Webster's Pages and My Mind's Eye to make my layout. I took the photo in March using my camera phone so that photos are not that great, but they captured something that I do nearly every morning...drink a cup of coffee. I have grown to love that cup of coffee and I especially enjoy drinking it while I cruise around on the internet. My title was inspired by a silly but cute song my Mom loves to sing called Java Jive by Manhattan Transfer. It is one of those old time bouncy tunes that seems to stick and stay for awhile after you have heard it!

I matted a Bo Bunny Doily on the brown patterned paper and fussy cut around it to create the scallop shape. I then used the back side of my X-acto knife to distress the edges of it before adding it to my layout.

I did quite a bit of fussy cutting including cutting the chevron strips and the days of the week strips.

Supplies:
Patterned Paper: My Mind's Eye Collectable, Webster's Pages Color & Composition

Die Cuts: Elle's Studio You and Me and Day to Day
Chipboard: My Mind's Eye
Washi Tape: Pages Color & Composition
Stickers: Webster's Pages Color & Composition
Doily: Bo Bunny
Punch: Martha Stewart Embroidery Punch
Ink: Ranger Distress Ink in Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!!!

Paper Bakery April Sketch #1 | My Take

So, as you may or may not know, I am now a member of The Paper Bakery Design Team! I am also their new Sketch Artist! I won't begin working with their kits until the May kit, but I have already started creating sketches for them. My first sketch has been revealed and it has been posted on The Paper Bakery Blog as their first April Challenge! I decided to play along even though I don't have a kit to create with yet and I wanted to share the layout I made with you today.

And guess what? This is the first time I have ever used a piece of flair on a layout!!! It was quite fun and I imagine I will be using a bit more of them on my upcoming layouts if you know what I mean!!!

I used a combination of American Crafts, My Minds Eye, Maya Road, and Elle's Studio to create my layout. Instead of using only 2 photos like the sketch, I decided to use 4 wallet size photos and grouped them in two's and then matted them to create 2 separate layers. Other than that change, I pretty much stuck with the original sketch.

I am always amazed at how people interpret my sketches and how different each layout looks! It is so inspiring!!! It also is making me very happy to have so many of you playing along with the sketch. Thank you!!! Also,  just a reminder that you still have a couple more days to enter for a chance to win a fun prize from The Paper Bakery!!!  Good luck and I can't wait to see what you create!!!

Bo Bunny Serenade

Happy Tuesday all! I have been struggling with having things to post on my blog if you haven't noticed! Hopefully this week, I will have time to make some things just for fun. I have finally caught up on most of my assignments and have a little breathing room for a few days! I did however, find a Bo Bunny layout I made using the Serenade collection. I made this several months ago, but I have never shared it anywhere.

This is a photo of my adorable niece from one of her dance recitals. She is finally getting the hang of it this year and actually moves around on the stage a bit more! I thought the colors in this collection matched her outfit perfectly!!!

I did a lot of fussy cutting on this layout. I cut out dragonflies and lots and lots of flowers! I added some jewels to bling them out and used double sided foam tape to give them some dimension.  The doily was lightly inked with Mustard Distress Ink.

I am so happy to see the sun shining today! I hope your weather is gorgeous or at least enjoyable for the time of year!!!

Bo Bunny Birthday Party Invitations

Today on the the Bo Bunny blog we are sharing party supply and decor ideas with you. For my project I created a set of birthday party invitations using a combination of patterned papers and the 6x6 paper pad from the newly released Surprise! Collection. I die cut the gift boxes image using my Cricut and the Birthday Bash Cartridge. I cut all of the piece/layers for the gift boxes from each piece of patterned paper that I used. I then mixed and matched the layers and colors to end of up with actually 5 total images that are all slightly different. I am only showing you a couple here, but I hope you understand what I mean. If not, just ask!

I cut the "Happy Birthday" strips from the paper in the 6x6 paper pad to use as additional decorative elements on the cards. The sentiment was created using a Paper Smooches stamp from the sets Sentiment Sampler and AlphaDot.

Supplies:
Patterned Paper: Banners, Confetti, Hooray, Numbers, and Twist/ Bo Bunny Surprise
Paper Pad: 6x6 Bo Bunny Surprise
Jewels: Bo Bunny Surprise

Stamps: Paper Smooches Sentiment Sampler and AlphaDot Stamp Sets
Ink: Ranger Archival
Die Cutting Machine: Cricut Expression 2
Cartridge: Birthday Bash

I hope you stop by the Bo Bunny blog to see what the other designers have created to inspire you!

Evolution of My Scrap Space | Part 2

Today is a follow up to my post from last week about the evolution of my new scrap space. I have a ton of photos to share with you today, but it will give you an idea of how I store and organize my paper, embellishments, tools and other essential items.

These first few photos are of the continued evolution of my room.

Here is my finished scrap space!

This is another angle from the other side of the room. Here you can see my new table for my sewing machine. The prior owners left it and as soon as I saw it I knew what to do with it!!!

So, now let's take a closer look at my storage. This is the tall shelf in the middle. I have a row of glass jars, a couple of them are antique, that hold some of my ribbon. I love the colors of these particular Bo Bunny Ribbons, so I used them to add some color to my space.

I love to use some unique storage items to add a little character to my room because as you will see I have a bit of plastic storage as well.  I prefer that things are easy to see because it helps remind me what I have to work and play with. Out of sight, out of mind is totally me at times, so I try my best to avoid that dilemma!!!

Isn't this little toy wagon adorable?! I found it at a antique store and it is the perfect thing for storing my altered art mediums such as Gesso and Molding Paste.

My favorite storage containers however, are these awesome wood box drawers from Hobby Lobby.

They are perfect to hold Cuttlebug folders, spray inks/mists, paint, stamps, jewels and other embellishments. I would love to have more and hopefully in the future I will be able to get a few more of them.

My patterned papers are organized in plastic paper holders. I group them into folders or sections by manufacturer and if I am on their Design Team, such as for Bo Bunny, I group each collection together as well.

I also use Sterilite Drawers to organize and store a lot of my embellishments. Inside each drawer I have Sterilite Trays to further corral items such as my embroidery thread, ribbon and twine.

I also use these drawers without the trays to store my flowers.

Another fun storage item I found is this 3-tiered holder. It is perfect for holding my Distress Stains and Inks as well as other miscellaneous scrapping items.

I use a chest of drawers to organize and story my punches. I placed a piece of drawer liner on the bottom of the drawer to keep the punches from sliding around so much. I just came up with this idea the other day and love it!!!

Well, there you have it. As I was writing this post, I realized that I could easily take more photos of more things. I didn't show you my button or cardstock storage, but there are several other things you might enjoy seeing. If you have any questions, just ask! I'll be happy to share.  I did have one comment asking about the flooring. It is carpet. Not my first choice for a scrapbook room because of paints and inks and such! I put down some plastic floor mats for now under my chair and desk to hopefully help protect the carpet until the day we can replace it with something a little more durable.  I still have a few more things I want to organize, including all the items I use for altering projects and other craft supplies. I will then be done with the organizing for now. It is always an evolving process for me. At least now I can use the room to scrap and create and I will be sharing some projects as soon as I can!
