Evolution of My Scrap Space | Part 1

I had several requests to share my scrap space with you, so that is my plan! Today I have some photos of what I accomplished in one day of working on my room. My new room is in the basement with only the one small window you see in the photos. Not much in the way of natural light for sure and definitely a huge change from my last room which was surrounded by windows. I loved all the natural light, but truth be told, that room was cold in the winter and hot in the summer so I spent most of my time scrapping in the dining room to stay comfortable!!! I guess you could say that I am trading comfort for natural light. I will take the comfort and I have plenty natural light upstairs in my living room/kitchen area if I want that too!

These first two photos are how it looked before I started.

After removing some items of furniture, I was able to determine where to put my work table and storage shelves.

As I unpacked boxes, I began to fill the shelves with my storage bins which include a combination of plastic drawers, baskets and wooden boxes/drawers. I prefer storage that allows me to see what I have. Seeing it helps remind me where it is and what I have to work with.

And this is where I ended my day of organizing. A few more things made it onto the shelves and I moved a few things around. I am hoping to make more progress with it today. Also, because of the change in lighting, I am very sure that those shelving units will be getting painted a lighter color to help brighten things up a bit. I do not want to feel like I am in a deep dark dungeon!

So, that's it for now. If you have any specific questions about things you see or want to know, just ask. I will address them in the next post!
