Elle's Studio Tabs | A Little Java and Me

Happy Friday! I hope you have had a good week! I have been busy working in the yard, getting all my flowers bed ready. Spring flower bed cleaning I call it. We have more flowers bed here at our new house than grass to mow. My husband loves this!!! We have always had the deal that he did the grass and I did the flowers. Well...that may have to change. There are a LOT of flower beds here! LOL!!!

In between the work, I found time to make another layout just for fun. I was inspired to created it for a challenge I saw on the Elle's Studio Blog to create a layout using one of their tabs as a photo mat. I didn't get it done in time to play along, but I still thought I would share my finished design.  I used a combination of Elle's Studio, Webster's Pages and My Mind's Eye to make my layout. I took the photo in March using my camera phone so that photos are not that great, but they captured something that I do nearly every morning...drink a cup of coffee. I have grown to love that cup of coffee and I especially enjoy drinking it while I cruise around on the internet. My title was inspired by a silly but cute song my Mom loves to sing called Java Jive by Manhattan Transfer. It is one of those old time bouncy tunes that seems to stick and stay for awhile after you have heard it!

I matted a Bo Bunny Doily on the brown patterned paper and fussy cut around it to create the scallop shape. I then used the back side of my X-acto knife to distress the edges of it before adding it to my layout.

I did quite a bit of fussy cutting including cutting the chevron strips and the days of the week strips.

Supplies:
Patterned Paper: My Mind's Eye Collectable, Webster's Pages Color & Composition

Die Cuts: Elle's Studio You and Me and Day to Day
Chipboard: My Mind's Eye
Washi Tape: Pages Color & Composition
Stickers: Webster's Pages Color & Composition
Doily: Bo Bunny
Punch: Martha Stewart Embroidery Punch
Ink: Ranger Distress Ink in Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!!!
