Valentine's for your Valentine

Valentine's Day is coming soon. Do you do anything special for Valentine's Day in your home? Do you have any special plans this year? We don't usually do too much and we don't have any plans, but I always make my Baby Cakes a card and give him some sort of small gift.  Shhhh....don't tell him, but one of these cards might just be his Valentine this year!!!

I used the Love Notes collection by Bo Bunny to make my cards. It is perfect for making your traditional Valentine's Day cards! It has so many great papers and embellishments to create cards that you can give to your loved ones on Valentine's Day, or any day of the year, to let them know just how much you care!

On the Bo Bunny Blog today we are focusing on using their fabulous stickers! Have you ever stopped to think about how many sticker options Bo Bunny has?  For each collection they offer 5-6 sets of stickers that range from simple cardstock stickers to their amazing layered chipboard stickers!  I used a combination of their different stickers on each of these cards.

Supplies:
Patterned Paper, 6x6 Paper Pad, Stickers, and Brads: Bo Bunny Love Letters
Jewels: Bo Bunny Enchanted
Twine: Paper Smooches
Glitter Glue: Ranger Stickles

Supplies:
Patterned Paper, Noteworthy, Stickers and Jewels: Bo Bunny Love Letters
Ink: Ranger Distress Ink in Firebrick Red
Cardstock: American Crafts

As I was making these cards, it made me stop and think about giving my loved ones Valentine's cards all year long, not just on this special day.  You know what? I think I might just do that! They may not all be pink and red and covered with hearts, but I want to send more cards to let them know just how much I love them, miss them and care about them!

Home Sweet Home

Our moving day really can't come soon enough for me, but I am trying to stay patient. The old saying patience is a virtue is so very true!! The layout I have to share with you today is of our current home. I scrapped it a few months back...before all the moving plans had begun.  I find it so interesting to look at this layout now.  It means something so different to me now as compared to when I made it.  Now, it really makes me think about how much I am going to miss this old house, this street, this town and our neighbors and friends.

The "Home Sweet Home" die cut image is from Birds Cards.  When I saw it on her blog I knew it would be perfect for scrapping this photo. It said quite simply what this home means to me. I also used some Dusty Attic chipboard that a dear friend, Gabrielle Pollacco, shared with me. I will ashamedly admit that I have been hoarding it and using it sparingly. I didn't do much to it for this layout other than to ink the edges a bit with some Ranger Distress Ink.  I choose to use the fleur-de-lis design because it matched the stained glass pattern that is in the transom over the front window.

Supplies:
Patterned Paper: My Minds Eye
Ink: Ranger Distress Ink
Die Cut: Birds Cards
Chipboard: Dusty Attic

Have you ever scrapped a photo of your house?  I'd love to hear your thoughts on this!

Happy Day

This was such a happy day indeed! I had so much fun crafting with my niece. I am not sure who came up with the idea, but we decided to decorate rocks so that she could turn them into necklaces.  She collected a handful of small smooth rocks from one of my flower beds.  Then she picked out different colors of acrylic paint and painted them.  After the paint was dry, I helped her coat them with Glossy Accents and different colors of coordinating glitter.  Once they were dry my Mom helped her attach them to jewelry pieces and cord to create one of a kind necklaces.  They really turned out super cute!!! I don't have a picture of the finished necklaces, but if you look below I do have a close up photo of one of the painted & glittered rocks.

For my layout, I used the My Mind's Eye Tangerine Collection! I was the lucky winner of one of the My Mind's Eye blog challenges recently and this was the collection I choose. I was amazed at how generous they were with what they sent and I have really enjoyed playing with all of the goodies included in my prize package! Thank you so very much My Mind's Eye!!!

Here is the image of the rock I mentioned above:

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!!

My 2013 CHA Top 13

I know we have all had time to pour over all of the new goodies from CHA.  I made a Pinterest board to help me keep track of them, but I thought I would share my top 10 manufactures on my blog just for fun.  After trying to stick to only 10 things, I knew it couldn't be done, so I decided to pick 13 manufacturers for 2013!!! Love is in the Air

Love is in the air, so I thought I would share a couple of Cricut projects from the past.  This one I still love so much and I can't wait to be able to use it in our new house.

I used a variety of cartridges to cut all of the hearts and to create the flower. Here is a list of the ones I used: Mother’s Day Bouquet, Accent Essentials, Birthday Cakes, Indie Art, Martha Stewart All Occasions Cake Art, Martha Stewart Seasonal Cake Art, and Wild Card.

I made this next project for Danny's as his Valentines Day gift package last year!!! I used these cartridges: Victorian Romance Cartridge, Ribbons & Rosettes Cartridge, and Princess Party Cartridge to create it. You can download the cut file if you are interested HERE.

This is the Valentines Card I made to go with it!
If you would like this cut file it is HERE.

Looking at these reminded me that I need to start making my gift/card for this year!!!
