My Favorite Layouts of 2012

I thought it would be fun to play along and share a post with all of my favorite layouts from 2012.  I realized as I looked over my blog posts from this past year. that I made very few cards and altered art/home decor projects.  I know I used to do a lot more altered art/home decor in the past, but I think I stopped doing so many of them because I was running out of room for all of them!  Anyone else ever felt that way?!

As I look over these layouts I see:
1. Color and lots of it, especially yellow and turquoise!!!
2. Mostly one photo layouts.
3.  A variety of different styles from clean and graphic to a bit more artsy.
4.  The use of mixed media products including mists, stencils, gesso and molding paste.
5.  Happy scrapping and play!

I hope 2013 is full of more fun scrappy play!  I have a feeling that I will be adding more mixed media techniques to my layouts and projects in this new year.  Clean and graphic are fine, but I sometimes feel like I am missing something on these layouts.  I especially love the ones with more texture and the use of stencils and my mixed media supplies.  I have been playing with my Dylusions Ink Sprays and stencils from The Crafter's Workshop that I got for Christmas and it has been so enjoyable!  It has also been a bit messy as I am still not sure what to use to get the ink off my hands!  I haven't gone out to buy anything that was suggested when I asked on FB, and I have yet to find anything in my house that will work.  If you have any suggestions, please share!

Thank you for stopping by today and all of your visits this past year!  I can't wait to see what 2013 holds for me as I begin a new life in a new city!

HAPPY NEW YEAR HUGS!!!

  4. Your work is just amazing Juliana. I love looking at your photos because your story shines through. You can see how much your love your family. Your so inspiring with your designs and techniques! I'm sure 2013 will be an amazing year for you. Now..on a side note, lol... I bought the hand barrier cream from the art store that cost me a fortune! I'm telling you it didn't work half as good as my "baby bottom" cream from the local drugstore for $3 a tube, lol. Ink, mist, paint washes right off!!!

  8. What a wonderful collection of precious pages you have created.... they really are all beautiful and as you said, gorgeous colours!! I also tend to be slowing down in the altered art, home decor items - though, I mostly gave mine away due to this - so yes, I do relate.
Juliana, Happy New Year.... do hope you're feeling much better ... and that 2013 is kind to you all...xx
