Speak To Me

Good morning!  Just a quick post today.  CS Sketch #200...yes they are on #200...is up and live on the CS blog!  I played along this time to help Kristine celebrate this fabulous milestone.  Here is my take on the sketch:

I used some of my favorite Jillibean Soup papers, stickers and corrugated shapes on my layout. I used a scrap of paper I had cut out some stars from using my Cricut to create the mask for the stars. I laid the mask over the layout and then used a sponge dauber to apply Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  I then added a light misting of Tattered Leather Glimmer Mist for a little sparkle.  I also gave in to the confetti rage and added a bit of that using some scraps and my hole punches.  I found that I was able to figure out where to glue the confetti down by dropping a few pieces of the "confetti" onto my layout and then seeing where it landed.  If it was too thick, I removed a few and then just glued them in place.  Also if I didn't like the color that was in one place, I just switched it out for another color in the same spot.  It was kind of a trial and error thing, but I do like the finished look.  It is similar to the paint splatter look, but I liked it better, because I felt more in control of the finished look.  I have tried the paint splatter thing and I always wish the paint had splattered in a different place.  LOL!
Hope you all are having a great weekend and make sure you stop by the CS blog to see the other designers take on this awesome sketch!

  1. Absolutely charming! The confetti really does add a little something. Love how you picked up the colors of the picture in the layout as well.
